Hi,

I've a P200sx for my next project, in all model I use BVM UAT, is it good for this turbine or is it too small?

Who have experience?

Best regards.

MY experience:

I have run several 120 (3) and 160 (4) on the BVM UAT with NO problems. One my one 200SX (UltraBandit)I kept having a leak at the plastic bottle neck. I wrapped it with teflon tape etc....still leaked. None of my other (8) UATs ever leaked with usual maintenance. While some say the UAT is fine, I couldt get rid of my leak and switched to a JMP accumulator and it is working well now.

Just my opinion. All of my other 160 and smaller installations all have the BVM UAT and work perfectly as well.

I've used BVM UATs in a number of P-200 powered planes without an issue, but your results may vary. The JMP Accumulator and CAT products are very good too.

I believe that the usefulness of an air trap is over rated. If you have saddle tanks you need to bring the collection to a hopper tank. Good filtration is a nice feature of the UAT and the CAT. So we find them useful for these reasons, but not - in my opinion as an air trap. So use the needed items for filtration, and final combination of saddle tanks, and if you can see into the tank and know the air fuel line, and know the final draw is full of fuel, then its good.

For me it has to be the CAT. I have had 4 P-200 powered planes. All with CAT's and all working perfectly. I too have also had 200 set ups running UAT's.. I just have better peace of mind running the CAT's

After using a CAT on an Olympus I cannot even think of using anything else. Solid simple build. And SEE THROUGH/translucent. I have used JMP accumulator with great results as well.

Hi the most important is not the uat tank ,is the size of yours vent tubs with p-200 minimum 6mm and bigger bras tubing in tank plug ,the bvm ,cat, pst the all work with the same result with proper tanks tubing installation the bigger for vent will make all uat to work just fine.

IV bags work the best, put 2 of them instead of fuel tanks, guaranteed no air bubbles, BUT DON"T CRASH![>:]

For clarity, my ultra bandit installation did have dual large vents (which I always use as well) and still would leak with the 200SX.

I am not arguing with others and their installation, just reporting my earnest attempt with a bulletproof fuel line installation to make my UAT work with the BVM UAT for the 200SX.

Perhaps I had a bad bottle or top but my other BVM UATs have all worked flawlessly on the 160 and smaller turbines.

I just was not inclined to buy another one to see if it would still leak and just switched to the JMP so I could get flying.

I guess that is my point, I didn't have to do anything with the JMP accumulator to make it work.

From several years of experience with P-200 and P-200SX (and limited time on B300F), the TWO best systems are:

JBR-Jet CAT (260ml), plus Marc can also custom make you a bigger size if required
JMP Machined Air Accumulator

Both of these systems have the 6mm (3/16") High Flow fittings

hello there i have really been considering one of these for my new build... i am building a new ultra lightning with a p180rx.. i had one before that i sold with the bvm uat... after each flight lots of wide open throttle i noticed a third off the top...now if i took it easy it would stay filled.. i was thinking of getting the big cat uat for this build ..seems thats the best for the bigger engines...what do you think...? pat
