Has anyone put together a portable table for test running 50cc engines? I’m about to start modifying a Black and Decker Workmate. I can lift about 30 pounds max. Thanks, Dan.

Mine's portable too. It sticks out from the tailgate of my truck.

I have a Workmate similar to the WM 225. Have had it for many years. My engine stands are made of 3/4" ply, screwed to a 2' long 2x4 standing on edge. I clamp the 2x4 into the WM with the engine sticking out one end. For large gassers, a weight is needed on the bottom tray of the WM to keep it from tipping over.

I think the most portable engine test stand is the one where they slip it into the reciever for a trailer hitch on their car or truck. If your trailer hitch uses a receiver, you can fabricate up something to take advantage of it. Then you can test engines wherever you can park your car or truck.
Many years ago, when I had a pickup truck with the ubiquitous steel rear bumper, I had drilled a couple of holes and mounted a J-Tec engine test mount on it and I used it for years that way, at least until I sold the truck.

I personally don't need the portability. I run engines in my driveway. YMMV if you have picky neighbors. You may not be familiar with the Workmate I referred to. It folds up for transport if that's a factor. Not too sure I want the exhaust residue on my truck in any event.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Thanks everyone. I'll see how far I can get with the Workmate. I'll have the table top strapped to the back of my Suburban trailer hitch and I'll be at my flying field. My neighbors still can't used to my engines running. Dan.
