Happy New Year to all and all the best for 2013. May we all continue to act like big boys and enjoy our toys !

Blue skies over East Anglia today meant that excuses were quickly concocted to wives and a few of us headed for the field to burn some kero....

Hi Pete, it is in fact a replacement airframe for one lost when the tail plane failed.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10316140/anchors_11352751/mpage_25/key_/anchor/tm.htm#11352751

The accident happened on 10/13/2012 the new airframe arrived about three weeks ago.

Echo that Pat...nice one Mick, all you need is the spool-up whine of a pair of TF-34s to make that gear up overshot the real thing! Looking fwd to seeing it 'in the flesh'.

Cheers,

Dick

HI Jet World.  This year I am getting into the turbine jet arena.  In the past I have all sort of aircraft except turbine.  I have some JR 8717HV servos for a helicoptor.  Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use these on a jet as long as i adjust the servo speed on the radio.

Regards

What a great way to spend New Years Day. I could only manage about 6 minutes flying until my thumbs and fingers became detatched from my brain due to the cold, It was nice to see some blue skys for a change instead of the continued rain we have had recently. Well done Mick, i wasnt sure if your hands were shaking from the cold or your new A10 it looked great in the sky.
Happy New Year.
I thought the photos of the Alpha jet were very profesional.

It was a fun day out indeed.

Dave your talents are truly wasted in the telecoms industry with photography skills like that

Hey Nice flight Mick. I remember reading on the build thread about the loss of your fuselage. Great recovery. Looks great in the air even with that less then perfect sky. It looks like a big floater, would that be true? Now I have to go back over your build thread to see what you put into for power. Looks like a good match with that airframe. You are flying like I see the full size at airshows I have been at, where the A-10 is always doing tight turns to be back on the target in no time at all. Well done! Maybe one day.

Alan

More jet festing yesterday !

Was a little overcast to start with but that soon cleared to make a lovely bright day. So lots and lots of flying. I think we all emptied our fuel bowsers.

My Torus was in fine form and after lots of trial and error sorting out the undercarriage on the Alpha Jet over the past few months I have finally got it working superbly this week. Really nice aircraft to fly now. I converted the mains to LADO electric units in the end.

Simon M had his Tutor out and really enjoyed it

Dave Bugz Classic Flash out again - This must be one of the most flown Flashes in the world I reckon. It was 3rd hand when I got it and very very used then. I had a year of plenty of flying with it and Dave Bugz has had it for about the last 3 years.

Mark Hintons CARF Viper - I had a couple of flights on this one yesterday again and what a sweetie. Does the book, lands lovely and you can tell it will just last forever. Trouble is now Im tempted

Simon M and myself recently invested in some cold weather gear as we are getting old. Somehow I think I might have made the better choice....

Considering it was my birthday AND anniversary i thought i was only allowed out for a couple of hours so was gonna go to our local patch, but the wife of 28yrs said go fly all day . I left in the dark and got home in the dark, not sure she was that impressed[>:] Anyway another good day and yes the "old" Flash has seen some action but i just love the way it flys, its probably had 100s of flights but just keeps going [ shows that Comp Arf makes a plane that will last]. A lot warmer this weekend didnt need to wear my gloves, not sure why Simon brought his Duvet oversuit as he didnt need to wear it and we didnt have to stand next to him with it on. happy days.
21 if only
