MAVRE, is it the pump fit of the 175 that's not working? In close fitting front ends, I usually pin the rear of the cowl and bolt the front.

In my Derivative (Xigris fuse) thread I did the opposite (pinned front) since I use a gasoline engine with a rear intake/pump.

Hmmm, a spring fast release set-up on a chin cowl will develop slop over time in a YS set-up. I wouldn't do it that way since slop in this area will make quite a bit of noise, in time. Nevertheless, if you're steadfast on using the spring fast release mechanism, MK used to sell them (check with Central Hobbies); most likely F3A U does as well.

Mavros,

I had the fast release on all my YS powered planes and never had any kind of problems, the Axiomes come with those standard, as Rune suggested F3A unlimited have a version and it is very good, larger than Oxai but very well made, just use guide pins on the back and the latches in the front, they can be about 6" from the front and will work great.

Hope it helps

Mine is electric, and has just two MK snap plugs (Not the magic box kind) on the sides, and one wooden dowel guiding pin in front.
I don't have a detail photo, but you can see the location of the plug on the side here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aerowold/5761709412/ (black dot)

Thanks everyone for your advise .........its not what I had in mind but anyhow I think I solved the problem.

Two alluminium bolts on the sides and one at the front under the nose ring and carbon fiber pins at the back. This should be fail safe I hope....

Thanks again
