I am on my first build. I have a Trex550e V2, the manual has 2 different head setups. For now all I want is a stable heli to learn on and then eventually move into 3D flight. I have been doing a lot of studying, but the topics I have found on the subject seem to spark more of a debate on what flying style is better. I am just looking for a little guidance on head setup, and the pros and cons. Will the F3C setup give me a more stable machine, and if so will I be able to perform mild aerobatic maneuvers without setting the head up for 3D.

Status: online 		F3C is precison aerobatic. If you're after stable then that would be the direction to go.

Not having built that heli I dont know where they are going with that distinction but I'd start with that and adjust to suit as your progress.

Thanks! In the manual it has different positions for the ball links on the mixing arms A (F3C) and B (3D). The kit also came with 2 sets of dampers for F3C and 3D. 

 In terms of the blade grip, it has 3 holes. One is for a positive delta, zero delta, and negative delta. Would you start out at a negative delta (less responsive) or put it in the recommended position, which is zero?

Status: offline 		I'd start it at zero. It is possible to have a bird that is too stable for beginning flight. You obviously don't want it to be twitchy and over reacting to your inputs, but you also want it to move when you tell it to move. If you're new to helis, get an experienced pilot to do the first flight for you. He can recommend setup tweaks for you and can make sure the machine is trimmed properly before you start flying it.

Set the linkages up for F3C, use the softer dampeners, and 0 delta.
