What's up guys just ordered my km 5t from Dan on eBay it will be here Monday so if anybody has any info on it sure would be appreciated. I have my hpi 5b but wanted a 5T so I got this one. I'm in canton tx if anyone lives around here I have plenty of room for bashing and I'm in the process of building a track.

Few thing required from the get go,

You should strip the truck down and apply Threadlock to all the metal to metal screws,

Install a killswitch,

Shock limiting cables will prevent shock ends from breaking off and help prevent leaky shocks,

Outerwears a air filter and pullstart covers,

Other than these items your km 5t should run great, enjoy.

I am really hooked on one of these, this one to be precise:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-5-Scale-RTR-30-5cc-Gas-King-Motor-T1000-VW-Bug-Bettle-HPI-Baja-5T-5SC-Compatib-/290798931231

But all i read on different Swedish RC-forums is to stay away from everythin thats not a Hpi, Mcd, Losi or FG because the engines will break direct and som will every single plasticcomponent. (I might have overexagurated a bit but u get the idea.)

So my question(s) are:
1. Are the Rovan and King Motor really that bad? If so, which one is the better one?
2. Does Hpi 5b/5t parts fit bolt on?

Thanks in advance, Jonathan

King motor Baja plastics are better quality than rovan Baja,

The km 5t body is also quite durable,

I had an issue with the wrist pin bearing on my km 5t, other than that It has never let me down,

Do you use HPI oil in the shocks or is there a less expensive aftermarket supply?

Thanks,
Bill S.

The hpi shock oil is piss, it leaks like crazy even on good shocks,

I used silicone shock oil from team associated and rarely had damp shocks.
