Well, I have enjoyed this truck in its nitro form and it is just time to move on to brushless!  I have had the truck since 08.  Gave the 3.3 to my stepbrother for his rustler and went picco .26.   I then went with the red dot picco .26 andf it has been a great motor and still is with only 2 gallons ran through it.  I have steel RRP gears in the transmission, full aluminum bulks, towers, bumpers and skids.  Here are my parts I used for the conversion:

Turnigy 2100 4 pole $40 from hobby king
Hobbywing Xerun 150 ESC $100 from hobbypartz
Zippy 5S 5000 mah 45C $70 from hobby king.
54 tooth spur
18 tooth pinion
Tekno battery tray
Motor mount custom by me from old 4908 chassis

I locked the trans in 2nd by removing the arm in the clutch assembly that catches 2nd.  I made my own custom piece that fit into the grooves on my RRP steel gear.  I am going to go with an HPI 78mm dogbone and 6mm drive cups fpr the rear driveshaft.  Here are my thoughts on the weakness of the center drivesaft... It is not the driveshaft being weak that makes it break, it is the metal u joint heating up after long hard runs and melting the plastic causing it to stretch.  Don't believe me?  Next time you go run long and hard pull the truck in and put your finger on the metal u joint....If the shaft was weak, it would just snap first time.  Amyway...I have lubed it up and it makes a little difference but eventually it will melt the yokes.  Now a 6S setup and traction could probably destroy one so I am not saying they are stout as hell, just everywhwere Ilook I see poeople thinking that its torque.  Its heat.  For the battery tray I used Cen GST bulk braces for legs.  Well I love this setup, was going to gear it up but I may leave it.  It is awesome.  Yes I know my a arm is upside down on front left.
