Status: offline 		I am wondering if anyone has used this engine ? the plane i have is a DH beaver weights are 7-11 lbs. its calls for a .91-1.20(2C) 1.10-1.40(4C) or a 20cc-or 30 cc gas engine i would like to go with 4 stroke ! like the FG-21 (1.26) 4-Stroke Gas Engine from saito ok the question is power with this engine will it have enough ?

Pe Rivers' calculator estimates 10 pounds of thrust.

Status: offline 		The Saito gas engines are something you don't see a lot of at most fields. A good place to ask questions and read reports from users is in the gas engine forum, a sub forum in the giant scale forum. I have read reports from users there but still haven't seen one at any of the fields I fly at or any of the fly ins I have been to.

Over here the saito gas engines are rapidly gaininhg ground on the glo versions and pe reivers thrust calculater sounds about right given the prop figures for the fg21.It should fly the beaver very scale like.One of the things i like about the gas version is their ability to swing bigger props without complaint providing you pay a bit more attention to the cooling side of things,pe reivers has an excellent guide on his website to get people started.Cheers peter

Status: offline 		It is definitely winter here but yes, if you are so inclined you can fly here all year round. In age comes wisdom though, I no longer fly when it's going to be 105 or below 40. It's been in the 20 and 30s at night and with any breeze during the day it feels like it's that cold.
The Saitos haven't caught on in my area, that was both Calif. and NV. I still have never seen the RCV running either. I did build a plane for a fellow in Calif. and I installed one of the RCV engines in it for him but the plane turned into a hanger queen and has never flown. Too scale to be risked?
The king of gassers here is the DLE in all sizes but the 30 is the most popular. I fly at three different places and have been waiting to see the Saito four stroke gasser in operation but so far all I can do is read about them.
I'm the only YS user I know of in my area too. Glow engines are fast disappearing here too. I have a few but the YS glows still get the most use? I'm going to try to build two new gas powered planes this year. Old engines though, a Brison and a little RCS.

Status: offline 		We live in a similar climate to you even on the coast here,if you go east 400kms you'r in the desert and it is just the same as where you are.I know money is money but for a little extra(and all the years worth of fun you get)it puzzles me why most people go for two stroke gassers plus i hate the sound the smaller one's make..horses for courses.

The op does'nt say if he's had any fourstrokes before so if you are reading this teeg please do.The way arf's are designed these days you usually end up adding lead to the nose if you fit a two stroke anyway.I should'nt say this but if a 91 two stroke is the lowest recommended power i'll add 50% again minimum with a fourstroke.
