the removable cockpit window lines look awful- this is somthing I dont want paint to camouflage-please rethink this detail otherwise a great looking plane

Perhaps the nose could be reconfigured similar to this photo. Would still allow access to the cockpit.

Any reason why, when you go to the website, the color schemes show an Embraer airliner, a Citation X, and various white Gulfstream's? We need some better photos of what color schemes are going to actually available, at least, an artist rendering to help make decisions.

I was just saying it would be nice to see those schemes on a Gulfstream, not a Citation X or an Embraer airliner, that's all. Kind of like seeing a Viper Jet with Navy T-45 colors.

Chill Down a little...
I love FEJ planes just like everybody else.

Yeah, I know you guys will do a beautiful job with the plane. Gulfstream is so conservative with their magic painting wand, it'll be years before we see anything other than white with a color stripe down the side.

I was just looking for some different styles and schemes. I know they are not Gulf's, I just wanted paint options.

Thanks Scott. You understood it!!

I think that metallic bronze and dark brown scheme on the Citation X would be great! May be a little hard to see? I'm new (again) to jets and my vision isn't what it used to be but at 130+ inches, it shouldn't be too hard to see with any color scheme.

As these planes get out to corporate owners, they'll start to go a little wild to give their planes a little individualism. I guess you could get a clean slate 3 view and go wild with photoshop...

Just a reminder FEJ can do any color scheme you can think of, I sent them a wild one and it turned out great

Lowell,
It's so good to see all of this happening with such positive feedback. The "Boooo Squad" is quiet finally regarding their cuts and jabs towards FEJ and we are seeing the results of a great company with great people and great customer service doing well, producing nice stuff at reasonable prices, delivering ordered airframes in reasonable timeframes. Plus, they are always developing new projects which is absolutely fresh and waaaaayyy above and beyond what other companies are doing these days. I have so enjoyed the "ride" the past 5 years with FEJ, buying product from them in the very beginning with NOT ONE problem...now 15 airframes later, to see the advancement and continued product development...hats off to FEJ. I love flying their product!

I am building anywhere from 4-7 of their airframes a year for people and to be honest, I prefer their airframes over the others out there.

See you at KY my friend!
Rex

Now Rex, that's not quite fair. I was a member of the "boo squad" earlier, and *I* was the one that bought FEJ products from the beginning (2008) - sooner than probably even you and Lowell were involved with them. Back then, their quality was nowhere near where is is today and they did *not* listen to their customers, or even their reps/dealers. I partially credit the "boo squad" for fixing that for those that came behind.

Since then, they have made great strides and I have quieted my comments. Unfortunately, there aren't any "new" models in my near future , but when there is, I may consider another try at FEJ...

The G550 is a nice effort as is the big Hawk. However, there are some key things wrong on both of them (windscreens on the G550 and landing gear on the Hawk) that hopefully they will fix so that the models can reach their true potential!

Bob

Bob,
Yes you were...LOL! I did get my first airframe from FEJ in 2008 too and had a great experience from the beginning. I remember seeing your F-15 at Liberty Bell that first year. Yes, there has been a "curve" here and I imagine everyone is due some credit that has stepped through the working of their product development. You are a doggon talented engineer...I am not! You seek perfection, I seek function and a good looking airframe...it's a good mix, man! I refer to the "Boo Squad" because it was so one sided, no one would pick on the others or remember the "curve" BVM, CARF, Fei Bao, SM and others went through too. FEJ was targeted and it was just not right...IMO. I saw RCU become a soapbox for opinions and it just kind of got no fun to read threads in the jet forums. While some was constructive, most were just lobbing grenades at a Chinese company trying to create a new market for larger airframes.

But here we are 5 years later. Planes will still fall out of the sky because of a bad servo, destructive flutter or loss of Rx system, or maybe even a leading edge gives way again. That's the unfortunate side of this hobby...but still a part of it...I hate it, but it is.

It's just good to be where things are now...that's all. I am always blessed to see you and Louie (dad and son) hanging out and doing this crazy hobby together. I lost my son to girls and football when he turned 15! We still deer hunt but I sure miss my son in this hobby!

See you at some point this year Bob!
Rex

Perhaps the nose could be reconfigured similar to this photo. Would still allow access to the cockpit.

Awesome work, as usual The B-757 cockpit looks GREAT!!!

Good looking plane, but I don't recall the Gulfstream V having vortex generators above the cockpit windows?
Like mentioned in an earlier post the vortex generators on the wings are way too big.

I don't want to clutter this thread too much with off subject topics, but since you asked.

The Boeing 757-200 nose section shown is part of one of four 757's built. The 757 was totally designed/redesigned and built by my friend John P. using the old school method of drafting. It's not a jet in the true essence of the word, because he elected to go with prop engines. The Air Holland livery is the last remaining one, and hasn't been flown in over three years. The first one was built in the UPS livery, which I think won an award at the Toledo Expo. The second one I dont remember the livery and the third one was done in the Eastern livery and lastly the Air Holland livery.

I remember that he tried varying covering/building techniques with all four ranging from covering the foam fuse center section with white glues & brown paper (experimenting with several brand names), to glassing which is what the Air Holland version has. John has stated that the brown paper method was actually more durable than the glassed surface, but had a high shrinkage rate which made it difficult to keep warps out.
