Awesome truck. Out of the box I was not impressed with the speed and acceleration. Had to reset the speed control and the thing woke right up. Had to pull apart the steering and Center everything. One side was way off. Not much stops this thing until it gets high centeted in the snow. The tires are super sticky had it climbing up the wall with out diff lock on. For nimh batteries getting about 20 - 30 min on a charge. Not bad when it had a pile of wet heavy snow on it and clawing for traction. Already ordered another set of 5100 batteries better than the 3000 that were shipped with it. Ya I know should have went lipo but I have a 2 year old that loves the rc's and helping so to me the old tech is much safer where she is concerned. I would definitely recommend this truck for anyone.

You will definitally get better run times out of the LiPo battery packs.    I have a buddy that picked up a Summit this past fall and bought the LiPo battery packs.    The only thing is there is a warning about running LiPos in wet conditions and when running in the snow it is not suggested by the battery manufactures.  There is also a Fail Safe built into the new Traxxas TQi radio system on the Receiver that needs to be enabled to run the LiPo battery packs.   It does battery voltage detection and once enabled the NiMH battery packs do not work until you switch it off.   Found this out on my Slash VXL 4x4 when attempting to use the NiMH batteries after settign it up for LiPo battery packs.

RTR really means Ready to Adjust before running these days on many RTRs.  I always had to tweak them a little out of the box to center everything but seems the last one I bought which was a HPI Trophy 4.6 Truggy one of the front tires was so far off it took me about 1/2 hour to adjust the front steering linkages before I could run it.   I had to adjust everything on the linkage for Toe and Chamber settings.    Have you ever seen Young Frankstein?   One of the front tires looked his eye balls in the movie.

The Slash VXL 4x4  I also just bought just needed some adjusting on the radio system and very little tweaking to get the tires to point straight on the linkages for toe settings.   Chamber settings were fine.

Ya not going to lipo's right now... I have a 3 year old that loves to play with these and help so as far as im concerned its a little to dangerous where she is concerned... Maby in another year ill think about it.. Im pretty good on batteries. got 4 for it now and another 4 on the way... Ya had to do some fine tuning steering was way out and the throttle control on the speed control had to be reset along with the remote..  Definitely a great all around truck i get it out every change i can get (glad it had lights)
