What about the posts where the title is "Need help" and the post just says "Broke a part, can someone help me identify/find it?" You've got to be kidding me!

well
motor actually is ok when talking about engines as the definition is: A device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, especially an internal-combustion engine or an arrangement of coils and magnets that converts electric current into mechanical power.

engine's definition is A machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion. Such a machine is distinguished from an electric, spring-driven, or hydraulic motor by its use of a fuel.

for nitro, and gas motor, and engine are interchangeable, but electric motor is the only proper word for it.

Hate it when a NITRO whatever is called GAS.... been that way for waaaaay too long!

if it runs on nitro the word gas doesn't belong anywhere in the name or description!

"Your" when it should be "you're",

"there" when it should be "their", and

"to" when it should be "too".

Not strictly RC-related, but indirectly, as you see it in forums every day, and it's as wrong as 2+2=84.

Yep, the term "mill" is annoying. I don’t know why it bothers me, but it does.

I use "engine" for internal combustion (or steam) and "motor" for electric, however some dictionaries say you can use "motor" for internal combustion, but I don't.

Spelling bothers me a bit too. "Brake" vs "break" is a classic. And then there's "they're", "their", and "there". It goes on... but I don't mention it unless I it's so bad I can't understand it. I make mistakes too... or is it "to" or maybe "two"? LOL.

But my main pet peeve is how certain RC vehicles, engines, etc., are perceived in such a black and white way by various forum members. Just because I choose a certain engine replacement when there is a "better" one I could have used, doesn't necessarily mean the one I bought is junk. It also doesn’t mean “your” engine will “blow my engine away”. Your engine may be better, but to what extent? Maybe mine is satisfactory for me and my driving skills? Basically, just because one RC vehicle (or component) is better than another, doesn’t necessarily mean the “other” is garbage.

EDIT: Oops, I see some of the things I mentioned were posted as I typed.

Urban Dictionary says the term "Fanboy" means extreme fan or follower of a particular medium or concept.
In RCU terms... someone who only buys Traxxas, swears by Traxxas, gets pissed at people talking down on Traxxas, and will say Traxxas is the best RC brand in the world out of all!
