I have no idea what I'm supposed to connect to what on my RX18. Can someone point me to a walkthrough? I have the HL towers and will probably get impact towers to replace them since the HL don't have hit indicators.

Ok thanks. So I guess this eliminates some of the connectors like the 5+2 then?

You can still leave the Heng long system IR system hooked up, so you would plug this into the RX where it normally goes. This would allow you to still have all the HL IR functions. You would then run a duplicate Tamiya systems that would plug onto the DBC2 for Tamiya compatibility. Here is where you would plug in a Tamiya or Impact apple and the IR emitter

The HL apple does not plug into the DBC2.

So if you want to keep the HL IR functionality you can. Most people don't as they move across to the Tamiya system, but the option is there for you to keep the HL IR intact.

What is the "Config Jumper" area for? I ask this as I really want to understand this stuff.

Thanks!

You install a bridge across these and the DBC3 is in programming mode. This is where you set the weight class of your tank.

Hi Dan,  On your reciever sketch The bottom plug says BIND. What is that all about?  Incidentally the Hobby King 2.4g reciever has a  differently labled channel
plugin layout than in your sketch. Also when I recieved the tx and rx it came in a plain white box, no labels and no instructions. Maybe that was why it was so cheap!

This diagram is a sketch of a Spektrum orange receiver. All 2.4 Ghz radios need to be bound to the receiver. Typically you insert the bind plug, power up the receiver, and then hold a bind button on the transnmitter while you turn it on. This bind the reciever ot the radio. You then remove th ebind plug form the receiver.

The instuctions for the Hobby king T6a can be downloaded online from Hobby King. Find the radio on their web page and the go to the file section. There will be instruction files you can down load. You also need the programming cable. Hopefully you got that when you ordered the radio. You have to configure this radio from your computer, i.e. reversing servos is not something you can do without the programming cable.

HK T6A

Scroll down and open the file folder. You will find the manual in there.

For you info the HK receiver is labeled like the Futaba. When setting up a DBC3 with this, use the futaba example of where you plug in the servo cables.
