Hi All,

I replaced a worn piston/cyl assy on a K30RZ with a new topend kit. After only 30sec's running it stopped, would lock up at TDC. I removed cyl and witness marks(arrows) can be seen on the piston and the top of cyl. Question, does any body know the measurement from the top of spark plug hole to top of piston at TDC to set the squish band correctly? I know that different thinkness cyl base gaskets are advailable but would have to know the measurement to get the correct gasket, the one that was in the top end kit is 0.2mm.

Cheers

I'd say it's only just touching now with a 0.2mm gasket (as you say it ran for a bit), change it for a 0.5mm gasket, that will give you 12 thou clearance.

Hi Ghost

Nice work with the mounts and the videos.
Are the mounts bolted to your hull or are they glued with the same stuff  on the block mounts that come with the camera.

How did you fine the handling of the boat with all that extra weight on her.

Jim,
The mounts are bolted with a couple of 4mm SS bolts and nylock nuts, the handling is not changed at all as the cameras weigh next to nothing. Spent most of the morning there with several boats as this is the first time I have had the lake to myself since November, my video camera died, so I only have the GoPro's at the moment, may be able to borrow a camera of my sister to get some fottage of them running from the shore.
Cheers

"We" (most of the non-Aussie's) ... are VERY jealous ... think most of us still have 'solid' waters :-(
