Steve Ehlers here from the Thunderbirds . The SPA West schedule has been set with the following Dates . We ,Us ,the T-Bird members, will be going to the out of
the area /state contests also ,so also keep that in mind for your event .We need to or at least I want to support All Vintage Pattern events in our Area .

Contests in July of course make it hard due to the heat Frank ,so keep us posted when you might have a proposed date .I will be bringing up this info at the Next T-Bird meeting on the 28th of Jan.

I am also planning to hold a CPA / SPA contest ,and would like to get a show of hands that would possibly show their support .Of course our SPA members and fliers
are welcome and most definitely are needed to make an event successful at this point . It is my opinion now, that for CPA to have any chance of Success in our area ,
we must include SPA members / airplanes . Since SPA in our Area was started in around 2008 ,and didn't really"Takeoff " till 2011 , now the momentum has gotten SPA Pattern established in our area . On that note I have heard that some SPA members may not want to fly in a CPA event ,for what ever reasons . Maybe a perceived lack of Competitiveness or maybe they don't want CPA or any other type Vintage Pattern event to succeed over the SPA they have been involved with .

Let me know what I would have to do in respect to sanctioning or whatever ,if I had a Dual /crossover organizational event . Let me also know any ideas you may have going down this road .

Great to hear that you may be doing a combo event... We always invite the SPA guys to come fly, the patterns are real close to each other and the SPA planes do very well. We have alot of cross over pilots here in the SE flying both and some who have crossed over and now just fly CPA.

If there is anything we can do to help promote etc. let me know.. If you wnat to talk by PM thats fine also.

Status: offline 		Steve,        I am really  favoring the idea of   a combined    SPA and CPA    meet.    I know there are a lot of  pilots  that have crossed over.  And since we don't have  any   CPA  meets in the area,  I think it's time to start giving the   CPA   pilots  some competition.     As for as a meet in July, I am not in favor of it.  But since I didn't have any dates of  the other  Clubs I was leaving it wide open.      I think we will elect to have  our meet   on June  22, and 23.     That would  present a meet  every other weekend in  April, May and June.     

This will be our first  pattern meet and it is going to take some time to get everything organized if we hope to have a  fantastic contest,  otherwise we would have chosen a date in April.  

So  Scott, put Golden Triangle RC Club,  Grand Prairie, TX in   June 22, and  23.    And I am sure it will be a  SPA/CPA combo.

Also let the SPA guys know they do not have to be a member of CPA to fly in any of the classes. In SPA sportsman and above you have to be a member of SPA. and Less rules , bigger plane base ( more planes) , pattern as in the day published by AMA, and More fun

your CPA card will be printed soon.
