Status: offline 		I sure hate to ask a stupid ?? , but how is the outer wing panel jigged up or blocked up during the build/sheeting to ensure proper washout-incidence? I guess I must have missed this someway.

Status: offline 		Not a dumb question,cause you need 2-3 degress of washout.Setup your panels on your bench so you have 0 degress at the root and 2-3 degress at the tip .Blockup the outer ribs accordingly so you have your correct washout and proceed from there.Make sure its correct before and during sheeting also because the sheeting should lock in the washout you built in to it.Hope that helps.

Status: offline 		I just watched a video of Greg Hahn's C-47 from 2005 at Dayton Ohio, it was really awsome. It looked like the plane had some really bad aileron or wing flutter on one side, then he brung it in for a landing. Did anyone else ever see this or have any input on a cause/prevention? Wish Greg would respond to this or tell me my glasses or medication needs to be changed. RD

You'r plane looks great Steve.

What remote video camera system would you suggest to install a plane that would carry reception on a good distance and still have a good picture

Status: offline 		The plans show a built up nose, or you can buy the glass one from Nick. (what I did).After talking to Greg Hahn I question the scale outline of the glass one, but its probably better than what I could carve out of wood. The cowlings are not shown built up as far as I remember, which I got a set of glass ones also. RD

Status: offline 		I was wondering what size props you guy's where ussing on the dc-3 i have 2 older us 41's they both have 2 blade props on them 18X6 on one 18X10 on the other. I was considering 16X10 3 blade or possably a 16X8 3 blade.

Status: offline 		I can believe it Ed,I'm putting new Fugi 32's with EI in presently and am taking out the used US41's.One has not been running up like it should and I'm getting tired of tinkering with it and I just don't have faith in them so hence the change of power.Plus the Fugi's free up space in the cowl for dummy engines.Steve

Status: offline 		The Fuji's worked well in Greg Hahn's B-25. They sound a lot better. A pair of
Wms Bros. detailed dummy engines will look great in those cowls. Should be
able to sneak a scale exhaust outlet in there as well.

Your glasses are fine, the aileron flutter you saw in the video was caused by a broken DuBro HD servo horn. I've never had that happen before, guess there's a first time for everything.

I promptly installed aluminum horns and she's been solid ever since.

Just finished getting her cleaned up and ready for the flying season, good ol bird!!

Hi Steve,

I only found this thread a week ago, how time flies when you come from behind. I loved the info' and pics you posted. I was amazed at the transformation the aluminium skin produced.

Glad to see that you had a successful flight, wish I could have seen it but I wonder how I would have withstood the suspense.

Status: offline 		Haven't maidened her yet John, hopefully soon.I'm haveing some glitches that I am having when the engines are running.I am moving the batteries and receivers aft to try and eliminate them.The switches for the batteries where less than a foot away from the port engine accessed through the pilots door and when I run that engine I'm getting the glitches so I'm moving the switches also.

Status: offline 		Installed a Futaba FASST 6 ch in her as per the manufacturers instructions and haven't had a single glitch yet while running the engines in my shop.It seems like 2.4 GHz is the answer in this case.I'm sure theres an answer to the glitches I was getting on 72mg,but I really like how this new radio is working.Albeit only 6 ch on a big twin,I have to put up with single stage flaps,and throttles on only one channel,but I can deal with that.Once the Futaba 8 channel modules come out I'll install it.I still have finish up a few things before I bring it out for some taxi tests later ... As you can see the antennas are protruding the bottom of the fuse.I may change this to the top.There is some debate here whether there is more exposure on the top or bottom.
I also ordered some more cowls from Nick Z.,they'll work well with these engines plus they're scale.

George and I were concerned with the issue of the coax portion of the diversity antenna set up could be compromised if the actual antenna portion was permitted to be blow back by the slip stream.

That is why George utilized the plastic tubes to firmly hold the inserted antenna not only vertical, but at Futaba's recommended differentiated angles. 90' to each other and centered vertically with 45' to the fuselage.

The antenna angles between the two and their positioning within or on the fuselage is critical to the diversity (an actual operational term...not a catch phrase) arrangements proper function.

Here's an image of the way George arranged the plastic tubing for support.
