I'll be using Cline fuel regulators on each engine .Jim was saying all I need is crankcase pressure from one engine to do the pressurization.Hmm which one..guess it doesn't matter.

50 oz Dubro tank should give me lots of air time. Its located right on the C/G..
...anybody using US 41's or Quadra 42's with starters? You either have move the engines back or move the cowls forward 1 3/8" to accomodate the spring starters.I think I'll move the cowls forward because you need the forward weight anyways..

Steve,
What type of servos will you be using for flaps, digital ones?
Also, will you be having a hopper tank next to the engine since you will be using one main tank in the centresection?
Finally, which engines are you envisaging to be using for the plane?

BTW if you have not finshed the outboard panels I suggest that you extend the 3/8" square balsa to W18 since on the plans these stop short just after rib# W17

Regards

Reuben

I'll be using 605BB Hi-tech servos (non digital) servos 77oz of torque on the flaps. On the ailerons I'll use 645MG(metal gear) servos that put out 107 oz of torque @ 4,8 volts.
According to Jim Cline his fuel regulators dont need a hopper (header) header tank and you can install your tank(s) anywhere.I guess I'm going with US 41's because I already have them.Id love to try some Lazer V200twins but they are kind of pricey..Right now I'm beefing up the center section including a removable center top brace across the tank...and have just installed the retracts...

Guys,

Can anybody please tell me what propellor size one would use if one is using the G38?
I am at the point of order the engines and was thinking of the 3W 42 engine. If one loks at the specifications for the engine one sees that the right prop for the engine (3 blader) would, most probably, touch the sides of the fuselage.

Can anybody help pls?

Thanks

Reuben

Wouldn't that be a 18x8 3 blader Ruben?

Hi Steve,

The 3W42 will take either 17x 10 or 18x10. On checking the position of the engine I noticed that with this engine there is not enough room for that size of prop. I was just wonder which prop size the guys were using when they used the G38 and whether they had to increase the size of the centre section when they used this size of engine.

Regards

Reuben

one comment about using the regulators and pressure from one engine. If the engine that is supplying the pressure quits, the other one will probably quit due to that regualtor not getting pressure.

This is an American Eagle with two OS 52's, both of which have Cline Regulators as the fuel feed. The tank is located in the fuselage.

Guys,

If there is anybody who has already built the Ziroli DC-3 utilisng the G-38 (or similarly seized engine), can one advise me whether:
1. of the size of propellor used
2. if there were any concerns about the size of propellor used
3. whether the plane's centre section was widened to accept the larger sized prop.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated

Thanks

Reuben

Hey Ruben : I just finished a trial fit for the fuse/mid wing and it looks like a 16" three blader will be the one everyone's using.I dont know why anyone else isn't saying much..They're being quiet..busy I guess....Steve
