Meant to be fitted inside a CARF ultra flash with Kingtech 140G
If anyone has comments. Now is the time to make them
Before final install

I have been playing with the spray
The smoke fluid will be straight diesel

Status: offline 		The spray looks good but in the picture the tubing looks like brass. If it is, it will melt with the temps being 600-700 degrees. I use 1/8 stainless tubing from Mastercarr.

Status: offline 		Depending on the alloy of brass used it will have a melting point of 900-1000°C. At 700°C it may begin to soften a little where stainless will not be getting soft yet.
If the brass does get soft and fail, I doubt anything bad will happen other than you have to make up a new tube out of stainless.
Over time there may be a corrosion issue with the brass that stainless will not have.
Stainless is also stronger and less likely to get bumped into a new position.

But then for testing different nozzle shapes for spray pattern, brass is a lot easier and less expensive to experiment with.

I am watching this thread with a lot of interest since I am looking to implement my first smoke system over this winter.

Status: offline 		Straight diesel for smoke fluid? You think this will be enough smoke?
I would use smoke oil when testing different nozzles. Or else you dont know if it is the nozzle, or the fluid that dont work.

Unfortunately don't think smoke fluid is available here in israel
The other fliers here use straight diesel and seems to work
The video was using water so you might be right about rechecking with diesel
Although I am hoping they are both similar as far as consistency
I cut "teeth" at 45 degrees into the brass tip at the end to get the spray as misty as possible
Hopefully will test next week and report back
This is my first jet and with this also my first attempt at a smoke system

No it won't Unless you have a hot start. I use 3/16th brass on my nozzle and it exits at the tail pipe on the F-15. I run the Brass tubing down between the Double wall of the pipe. I don't like the Mess inside behind the turbine and I have seen Smoke systems that exit right behind the turbine in an inclosed set up catch fire.

Another oil you can use if it is available there in Israel is Concrete Form Release Oil. That is what I use in the above video of my F-15. It is not as thick as commercial smoke oil but it works pretty good.

Status: offline 		The stainless tubing is about the same cost as brass and will take over 1200 degrees F. It is more difficult to work with but it's the differance between 5 minutes of work or 10 to fab a smoke stick. I have smoke on jets with pipes and without and the exhaust at the nozzel on my KT100 size turbines gets over 800 at the end of the cone. Brass will work but will fail after few hours at that temp. It's the material the pros like Dreamworks and Tam use and has worked for me for 6+ years with not one failure. I'm sure there are those that have used brass for 10+ years with no problems but as for me and my jets, we will use stainless. Use what you want, It's a choice
