Next step.

Adjusting the engine compartment. The rear must be shorted 2mm.

The front brace is next. Don´t glue it. It should be removable.

Antenna  base and the two front hatches are next.

First I wanted to use the HL track cable. But it broke multiple times during rip off.

Also the side fenders are missing. First I tried to rip off the hl ones. Didn´t work. So I had to construct new ones.

Let´s prepare the turret next.

In this case pictures should do enough. The center point is in the correct position.

The new swivel is not as high as the old one.

Here you can see the turret gap before and after.

Report will be continued

Greetings

Birger

Next step.

Because of adjusting the turret center point, the gun has to be cut off as shown in the picture.

Now we assemble the turret base.

Here you can see the center cable management.

Next we do the roof wireing.

As you can see, the turret drive is mounted temporary. With the kit, there will be a box for mounting.

After finishing the electrical work, my prototype looks like this. There is much space left. The batteries, as long as they are racing packs, can be fitted as shown in the picture. If you use different ones which don´t fit there, you can cut off the brackets.

I mounted the main switch temporary with a piece of poly in a position underneath the drivers hatch.

At last a few pictures to show the new constructed track fenders, the transmission and different front brackets as 2mm patterns to create different versions. The fenders and the transmissions can be mounted with m1 screws. Drill holes are prepared from the inside of the hull. You just need to finish the holes.

Report will be continued.

Greetings

Birger

Now the last update.

Well, it is done. Everything is mounted and tested. Everything works as expected.

That is the actual result.

What is next?

After correcting all construction mistakes and news, Christian has to work on it. He will produce one pre-production Tiger. That one I will assemble to check, if everything is perfect now. Simultaneously I will write the assembly instructions in german and, of course, english.

If everything is in expected shape, Christian will start production. I think, this kit should be available sometimes in March (2013).

After finishing the pre-production Tiger, I will show you the result.

Well, here does my report end. I hope, you enjoyed it. Please take my apology for my English, especially in form of special words. I tried my very best.

If you have any further questions or ideas, don´t hasitate to post them here. May be we can include one or more into this project.

There will be different types of suspension systems in the future, like the one the new metal chassis uses. So step by step, it will come, but I don´t know when, yet.

End of Report.

Greetings

Birger

Hi Birger,

Would you consider doing the same build thread but with the Panther A/D hull. This Tiger I build thread has been very informative.
What will the cost be for this kit and the Panther A/D kit?

Thanks,

Rudy

As far as I understood christian, the price should be roundabout 150€.

The price of the Panther chassis, I don´t know. You should send christian a message.

Because the Panther is not under my construction, I don´t no, what the assembely instruction will look like.

Hope I could help.

Greeting
Birger

Hi Great piece of engineering ,well done.
Just a little idea for people who would like to correct the turret misplacment but not the lower, if they have a Taigen lower for example.
would it be possible to have a part kit just the upper deck and lower turret ,also how about doing a shot deflector for doing a mid version.

  regards pete

I am completely impressed. Also there was no problem anywhere with your English, everything was explained very clearly :P

I'm glad you mentioned suspension, as I've been spoiled by Asiatam hulls and love the torsion bars in my PIII, Tiger & KV-2. That would be very nice to see, or explore.

Now I'm curious, what range of tanks can be produced in this way? Is it easier to base it off existing models, or can you assemble a kit like this from a 3D model of ANY tank?

This could be huge for increasing the range of available tank models. I'm excited!

@wright971

There will be a special kit to correct the center point of the Turret and the hull for the HL-Tiger. It is already constructed. I am waiting for the prototype. Than I will post the report. You´ll see.

@Strato 50

You are absolutly right. For example, the MLRS I am creating will use the suspension system of the HL PIII.

Greetings
Birger

Ok, guys,

I need some help here.

As far as I understood, some of you are interested in this chassis. I am assembling the the first pre-production chassis to create the assembly instruction. So, for you, I want to create an english version, too.

That is what I need your help for.

I´d like to post the manuel in this thread. Could you please help me to correct it?

Another thing. I will post it step by step. I would apreceate to hear your comments according to the understandability of the manual.

Greetings
Birger

Jepp, good idea. This should be easier than posting the whole manual, again.

Thanks a lot.

I´ll send it to you as soon as it is finished. That can take a while.

Birger,

I am not sure B/Man will be able to make the right corrections or edits as he speaks Australian English? Ok, that was humor. Thanks for doing this B/Man!!!

Hey guys, cool down.

Everybody speeks different english. Even me. The only thing I want is an english instruction that is understandable in normal english. No accent.

It is the same in germany. You can write one in bavarian german and nobody, except the bavarians, will understand.

So I am going to trust Mr. B/Man to use understandable words.

But to make shure and to have to possibilities, what about you, MAUS45? Try one, too?

Greetings
Birger

Well played sir!

Birger - don't worry, I will use very clear, plain and understandable English. I write rugby reports for my local newspaper so have a little bit of experience. Even our American friends will be able to understand it

If I look at the turret construction correctly, it looks like the you will lose the BB function.  Is that correct?  Any way to keep it?

Hi Have you thought about moving the gun pivot point to the correct position,as for losing the BB that dosnt bother me ,as long as there is room to fit a recoil (servo is the one I would go for).

You will loose the bb-Funktion anyway if you move the centerpoint. The difference is 13mm between the centerpoint of HL and the correct one. You have to cut the bb mechanic as shown in the picture.

Moving the gun pivot point was not part of this kit. To do so, you must cut the bb mechanic about the distance you move the pivot point. And you have to move the elevation mechanic about the same value to the front. Otherwise your elevation value will decrease to much.

Greetings
Birger
