Status: offline 		Hey guys, Just got an idea. I wanted to see what your guys vehicle of choice tends to be when running something quick/showing buddies how cool r/c can be.

I personally race off-road, both electric and nitro, but have a separate set of vehicles for fun. Thought it would be interesting if you guys listed a few vehicles that always are ready to go, and reliable to you. Talking more the type you run outside in your lawn/street in between racing and the like.

As for me

HPI Vorza - Awesome been running it on 6 cell lipo for 2 years never broke a single part.
Traxxas Nitro Slash - The new one I am having a lot of fun with, weighs almost the same as the electric 2wd and insane power and reliable.
Cen Matrix 5MT - My gasser, and MCD design at heart, been running this for 3 years with only one stripped $25 dollar gear, will need a new body soon.

How about you guys?

Status: offline 		1/8th truggy on 6S, specifically, my Xray XT8 09 RC monster conversion. 6S 1/8th in general, never ever fails to get a look of total shock and disbelief from those outside the hobby, never gets old.

My one and only is my Flux XS. That truck still amazes people even on 2s when they see it doing 45mph. It's even more crazy on 3s at 45mph, then pulling a wheelie to 50-55mph. I have broken two parts, rear upright and outer drive cup, but have replaced others at my own will in the two years I have owned it.

Although I've taken quite a shine to my CRT.5 lately too. But the 801xt has more of a "wow" factor.

I have done a complete tear down to clean and inspect all parts, so just picture the truck in a few bags of parts

Status: offline 		Defo my first (now six year-old) LST2. So much fun to drive. I've had fancier, more expensive, racier RC's.., but this LST2 with a good ole' LRP Spec 3 (or Losi 454) is just perfect.. So fun to drive.

It's not much to look at, but it is a lot of fun to drive. And has been sssooo reliable.. Best RC I've ever had.

Status: offline 		Didn't really want to post pics, as I'm sure most have seen or heard me talk about it, but for me it's definitely my Tekno-Losi 8ight. 4s, 2000Kv, surprisingly fast for what it is. This thing handles flawlessly wherever I take it, jumps like people jump savages, and the only "part" that's ever suffered or broke is the old yellow wing! Track wise, it keeps up with the nitro 1/8 on the straight, and is easy enough for me to be consistent with.

All because one day my buddy looked at me and said "Dude, you're the kind of guy that NEEDS an 1/8 scale".  I've driven and worked on MANY RC's, but I would definitely say buying what once was another worn, beateb buggy haas been a good turning point for me!

Status: offline 		For reliability my DF-02 as honestly it just works, and has broken very few parts, and outside snapping the chassis once the damage is usually repaired in 2-3 mins, last thing that broke was a screw flew out that held a shock in, and I drove it for 25 mins without a front shock as the BL setup would pull that side up so I didn't even notice it missing. The repair took me 2 minutes only cause I had problem finding a screw to use once I found the screw it was like 10 secs to fix

Now RC's that usually catch attention my savage X. Every time I've ran that I've had at least 2-3 people ask me about it. My electrics I don't get that with.

As for showing my buddies how cool RC can be I don't bother as they would be too damn lazy to do anything with them so its pointless(plus our work schedules are almost polar opposites).

Status: offline 		My Thunder Tiger MT4 G3......wait its my only rc I have left now as I sold the rest as I am renewing my rc garage. It is not the most practical being 8 scale so its hard to drive in front of the house but I have another rc in mind for that. 

At the park its heaps of fun, can handle jump after jump after jump rarely breaking even after some really stupid landings. It is also very stable due to the low cog it has and rarely flips over (unless wot over difficult terrain). It wheelies and standing back flips too on 4s (it can handle 6s).

Your bearings would of loved you after that  I assume you perform anti rust procedures after driving in snow right?

Status: offline 		As a "go to" rig it would have to be my 2wd Stampede, that truck is never broke and is always ready for whatever I put in front of it. If I am in the mood for a quick run like a single battery pack, I go to my Tamiya Lunchbox, they way it runs with all the bouncing and wheelies, it always put a smile on my face. I am curious to see what other people will post, good thread Hedgehog!!

I always do anti rust procedures. And, believe it or not, I have not needed to replace 1 bearing on the slash. We do not get much snow and i dont run it in rain, so thats why its still clean. Yes, a little rusty, but clean.

Anyhow, my goto vehicles change periodically but recently it's been a toss-up between my Axial SCX10 or my Savage Flux HP.  The Savage has been one of my favorites for a while because it is a solid and reliable bash truck that never ceases to impress curious onlookers.  The SCX10 is a different kind of fun as I've recently become more interested in scale vehicles.

Status: offline 		Kinda off topic, but i just finished running my MERV through the slush we got. Its my main basher, but the Slash is for special occasions. I took apart the shocks after running it to find SNOW in the shock oil compartment. I think i finally blew the rear diff. Now its FWD.

Status: offline 		My go to has been an old school black chassis stampede for a number of years.
It's mostly stock with the exception of VXL steel gears and Slash rear arms for a little toe in.


I've gone through a few motors, a dozen sets of tires and a couple of steering servos but I've been beating on this same truck for at least 7 yrs. I can't even begin to count the number of packs run throught it but I can say that this truck gets run at least 3 times a week and a lot more during the summer.
