Status: offline 		It's not a loss of RF signal as such - it's a voltage drop below the point where the processor in the receiver re-boots.

Status: offline 		Brownouts and processors go together. The first processor receivers on 72 also had brownouts. The reboot is what kills you - 1 to 5 seconds. Then on 2.4, the receiver has to find the transmitter which caused crashes on two brands of radio - s/w bugs. All new RX's reboot in about 0.1 seconds and you may not even notice. Switching regulators and mongo digital servos are the main cause of brownouts. Teeny tiny batteries also - like Eneloop RX packs.

Status: offline 		After some unwanted events, I looked into the available current capability of both NiCad and NMIH battery cells.
It turns out that many of the more well known and recommended AA size cells cannot be depended to provide currents in excess
of about 1 to 1-1/2 A without significant output voltage drop.  This assumes less than a fully charged pack.
Many BECs suffer from "specsmanship", in that the current rating is significantly greater than that obtained under normal use conditions.
This seems to be of particular concern when the BEC is part of the speed control.
