Panther A/D
hi
Because i get a lot of mails in the last days about my Panther A/D project i will post a few picture of the first Prototyp.
Istarted this project in the beginning of 2012 and first i only want a conversion kit for the standart Heng Long Lower Hull. But fast i find out that is to much work to change a G hull into a A/D Hull so i strat drawing the complet A/D hull.
In the developing Proces i decidet to made more than normal, i want to implement as much as many posible details of the inner Hull the original did have. Sure it do not make much sense but for me its a god learning project to see what is posible.
here are the pictures of the first prototyp. it still hase some mistakes and less details the new prototyp will have more details and hopfully less mistakes lol.
This hull is basicaly made for the use of standart Heng Long suspension. Because of the construction of the innerside of the Hull i think a Metall lower hull is not need realy.
later versions will be able to use Tamiya Suspension too. But this will be a later version.
Because this kit is only made out of 3mm, 2mm and 1mm Polysterol parts i think i can hold the cost relativ cheap.

This is looking good :-) I dont't understand why there is no metal lower hull for the heng long JP / P tanks. Even if this uses stock HL suspension it will be a good upgrade.

RE: Panther A/D
hi
thank you :-)
The hull should cost something around 100 euros -+ and i think the hull should be ready in march-+.
i think there is no metal lower hull for the Heng Long Panther because the Heng Long hull is bascali not bade, its realy strong if you compare it with the old Heng Long Tigers.
Anyway after the hull is ready it will be posible to get this hull in metal too but than with somethink like tamiya suspension.

RE: Panther A/D
Hull looks really great. I hope it will be few versions to use with HL, Tamiya suspension. Maybe metal version of this hull. It shouldn't be complicated when you have cad, corel draws. I think that it is good start point to think about real panther suspension. Currently we have the same suspension in Tiger and Panther( Tamiya) . It is not real. Panther have dual torsion bars system and move differently than tiger. I hope one day i build one that behave properly.

Looks great. I'm more interested in the Panther G...so, I'd really like a metal lower hull. That would be awesome. But, this project looks like a really good kit for those looking for the A or D. I like to watch these.

hi
im happy you like it :-). sure after finishing this projet it would be no much work to create a metal lower hull too. To get a real panther suspension in need alot of triing to find out the right materila of this torsions bars, but i have this in minde ;-).

RE: Panther A/D
I wish this or the Profiline Panther A and/or D had been available before I began to sink so much money into my Tamiya Panther G project. Either tank is much more appreciated than the G model as they were the REAL Panther's. And, even before I started a Panther F parts collection too.
Now it's too late but so far it's looking pretty good from what I see.

Nice work so far. Will you be creating a turret for it and how will the turret rotation work on the upper hull (how to mount the rotation unit)? If you aren't doing the turret, will we be able to incorporate the HL rotation or the Tamiya rotation method on the upper hull with our preferred turret? Thanks

thank you guys :-)
i think i will use the standart HL Turret and change it. the turret rotation ring will fit into the upper plate. think the HL turret rotation works ok and is easyly to get for everyone i think.

RE: Panther A/D
Would this be a gear down as well? This looks interesting and would be extraordinary to have a true final drive like the actual Panther!!!

thank you, jes the gear down ist somethink like 1:3, ..something the final drive is a must for the panther because its not easy to use the original angel of the lower front armor plate.
