    Status: offline     		 I have a new volcano s30.  I sucsessfully completed the 5 tank break in process.The next time i went to use the the truck the Idle was out of control. I found that the carb needle screw for the idle had vibrated loose and the carb had actually slid over inside the barrell. how do i get all the needle screws back to a "default" position so I can star over?

    When you say "the carb actually slid over inside the barrel", did you mean the barrel slid over? The idle screw fits into a little notch in the barrel. If the idle screw is all that came loose you just have to pull the barrel back to where the idle screw will fit back into the little groove or notch in the barrel and screw the idle screw back into place. You can take the air filter off and turn your electronics and radio on and set it back up. Look into the carb and set you idle so the barrel has a tiny gap in it, as you turn the idle screw in, the gap gets bigger. You just want it it enough so it isn't closed all the way. Then when you brake the idle screw also keeps the barrel from fully closing and causing the engine to stall. You can also test this by looking in the carb with the engine off. You shouldn't have to touch your low or high speed needle if the idle screw was your only issue.

I think I got the screw back in like you said but I also tried adjusting the high and low needle after breaking in the motor. it was very fat out of the box wich was good for break in but caused it to be sluggish and bog down when going from idle to full throttle. is there a way to reset the high and low needles? Im new to gas rc but on larger engine you can usually adjust all the way in and count turns back out to get a starting point.

    There are different opinions on the how many turns out question. You will find 3.5 to 4 turns out to be most common on the forum. Personally I run the needles out unlit they are just beyond flush with the sleave they are in. Get it good and rich, then it's easy from there to adjust in as necessary.

    Status: offline     		Thanks for the help. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. Hopefully the idle adjustment screw doesnt come loose again. I was lucky to find it in the bottom of the chasis! Thanks again
