Hello again Mike.
I read on the Radical R/C page that chinging out Hitec TX crystals is a bad idea. I have done that with my Eclipse. It came as a channel 39 but I put in my 48 crystal. Seems to work perfect, and does not cause any interference when used around other radios like my Focus4, which has been switched from 48 to 39. Am I taking a big risk by continuing on like this? If so, is the proper thing to do is get a new Hitec TX module on 48 or even Spectra?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have essentially the same question. I want to change my Flash 5 to a different channel. Can I just buy new Tx and Rx crystals?

Conman- It is against FCC and AMA regulations to change the transmitters crystal without re-tuning. Changing crystals will pose a danger to yourself and radios on adjacent channels. Yes, you can get another module tuned to a specific channel or use the Spectra module if you need to change channels.

gpmikemorse- No, transmitter crystals are not available. You would need to send it in to have the channel changed. We charge about $20 for the service.
