Does Snoopys dog house qualify as a warbird? Thoughts?

Heck ya, he chased the Red Baron with it. They even wrote a song about it. Good Luck, Dave

As long as it does not have a Reno racer paint job on it.

Warbirds = Yes

But man, I built one in 1987 and it flew like a dead-sticked 500 pound bomb. The thing was a handful to fly.

The real debate was: Was it me or the design?....I never heard back friom the jury!

I think it would be great to have one fly at noontime with the Red Baron after the gaggles of all the other war birds, to spark some interest in the crowd for the kids.

I remember going to an event 40 years ago in St Louis area and they had one and thought it was cool

Jeff, had to be the DESIGN........RIGHT

Model Airplane News had the plans for a .60 size glow-powered version of the Doghouse. I bought the plans but never got around to building the thing. A company called 'Flying Thingz' has a slightly smaller version still for sale:

I have seen both versions fly. Think "Big Engine." Lots of drag.

Lifer, I plan on scaling the plans down some to fit the 46 I have. I have the article pics and did some searching and found plans so hopefully between the 2 of them I can get it to work. I might even make it out of coroplast that way when I do crash and burn it'll be easier to fix lol...

"Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man
So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan
He challenged the German to a real dogfight
While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight

That Bloody Red Baron was in a fix
He'd tried everything, but he'd run out of tricks
Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice
And that Bloody Red Baron went spinning out of sight"

Bullet holes shouldn't be a problem lol. So far from what I've read is these are really hard to handle so I think I will be building it with coroplast to ensure it lives through the first few crashes. Now I need to find red coroplast to build it from...

Last one I saw flying was in Hawaii, and was made of coroplast as well.  I think the guy had a gyro or two on it as well to make it abit more friendly in the air.  He had it up with another guy who was doing his best to fly a DR 1 in the Hawaiian breeze.

The guy even had a Beagle with him, and I bet you can guess the dogs name lol.

No it wasn't Spam either
