Seeking information about the Nosen kit Mister Mulligan. I recently bought one that has been built and completely finished, less engine and servos. The builder said the model was set up for DA 56. The work appears to be first rate, I am very pleased with what I see. What I would to know is about flying characteristic, power requirements, servo requirements and any experiences with this airplane.

Thanks for your replies
Rich

Hello Rich,

Most all of the usbject Mulligans that I have owned and or flown have been powered with a Zenoah G-62 or equal and I would consider using metal gear servos of at leat 100 "/oz. for all flight controls. The Mulligan is a are very stable flyer and is very at home operating from truf fields and does not require a high time pilot to fly it after the test flight and trim out.

We actually used one as a paratrooper drop plane with great success.

I have a new NOSEN Mulligan in the box that I will get to in retirement...soon.

Good luck and enjoy.

Kerry S.

Thanks for your response. I have ordered a DLE 55 and Hitec 645 servos, once installed I should have it flying by spring. It is still cold and windy here in NW Oklahoma.

Take Care

Rich, I forgot to mention that if your Mulligan is of the traditional scale White finish and has no or poor markings, C&C Graphics has a complete scale graphics set that realy transforms its appearance. Just wanted to pass this along.

Stay wram.

Yes it is white and the graphics are on it, I am not sure where the builder got them. They do match the scale pictures. I promise to post some picture soon, The builder did a fantastic job on this airplane.

Sorry about the mess in the garage. I'll get better picture once I get all radio gear and the engine installed. I'll get better detailed pictures later. As you can see I got a very good deal and a beautiful airplane. I am ashamed to say how much I paid for it, but I will say it was just a little more than you can buy the kit today.

I had a Nosen Mister Mulligan that I flew with a Quadra 35 for power. It was marginal on power, so your choice of a bigger engine is on the money. Be advised that when you make your turns, the ailerons will not turn the plane very fast. You will probably want to mix in some rudder with the ailerons. Mine weighed 22 lbs. Its last flight was a short one as I took off with the ailerons somehow becoming reversed. May it rest in peace.

Many years ago I lost a friends airiplane for him doing the maiden when his ailerons were reversed....Since then I have always tried to rember to do a pre flight check that includes a controle surface free and correct check...I have caught Ailerons reversed and not pluged in and pluged into the flaps Etc etc. It is so easy to make a mistake that a pre flite will catch and save your plane...I am betting you will be doing a pre flight from now on...

I have had the same thing happen to me with a club members new plane. At the last minute he ask if I would take it off and trim it out for him. The engine was running and ready to go, I ask are the controls correct and the balance is right. He said yes I did it last night. Luckily, I caught it just after it lifted off, I killed the engine and got on the rudder. Damage was minor but he and I learned a lesson. Now I always preflight the controls on the first flight of the day on my airplanes. On a maiden flight, mine or some other club member, I check them and I ask another flier (not the builder) to check them with me. I have been flying RC airplane over thirty-eight years and I still learn something every day.

Take care
Rich
