Status: offline 		My interest is different CAD programs and the saving of files.

Please, next time you draw an image, and save this image, check the various programs you can save a file in.

See if Illustrator is offered?

I'm curious if it's common for CAD programs to have the ability to save work/drawings in Illustrator?

Status: offline 		It may not be pertinent to why you are asking Charles but newer versions of Illustrator will open .dxf and .dwg files so saving out of a CAD program in .ai format is something of a moot point. Of course you may already know this and have other reasons for asking!

I already know this.

What I don't know, is the "file save as" list in other CAD programs? AI is my only interest.

Obviously, that's why I asked.

So, any other reply about anything other than that, is a reply not needed.

Check Wikipedia, they write ups on several CAD systems...

The one for Draftsight:


No .AI though..
