E-Flite announced the Splendor BNF basic.

http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=EFL10250

Good looking. A little hybrid with large elevators.

Comes with new 6ch AS3X integrated receiver.
6S pack needed.

I will definitely try a little before replacing the receiver with non-AS3X rx.

I've been playing with the AS3X system in the VisionAire and in another smaller electric model. You can turn the gains to zero to turn the stabilization off if you want.

Hi, Tony,

I was told by a member at RCGroups (he purchased the VisionAir) that he couldn't turn off the AS3X (he said that he dialed it down to lowest possible setting).
I just got the new AS3X receiver. Got to play with it a little.

How is the VisionAire? Video of QQ flying at the AMA convention wasn't showing much.

Back to Splendor.
Have you seen one flying?

Ihncheol

Ihncheol,

See the videos below of the VisionAire. The AMA venue was pretty small and didn't allow for too much.

The Carbon-Z Splendor is amazing. I have seen it fly with and without gyros; I will have one soon and can report back. It's a very capable airplane.

Hello Ihncheol, ( actually Matt this time )

To turn the AS3X "off" on the AR635 the gain on all three axis and in gear position 1 and 0 must be set to zero gain. This is shown by no blinking Aileron, elevator, and rudder LEDs. The manual goes into more detail on how to adjust.

I was lucky enough to fly an early prototype when in Asia late Sept of 2012..... and this plane flys amazing. I was also able to fly the sample with both an AR600 and an AR635......it's simple.....I'm buying one.

Best Regards,

Matt McCarty

So far I really like the VisionAire. Very nicely engineered and it flies well. Only thing I think is that I'd like a bit more power. But then I've never flown an overpowered model!

I can't say anything more about the Splendor other then it looks good. I'm not involved in any way with development or testing so when you see it that's when I do. Hope to get one when they become available.

This is an interesting ship.

Too bad it requires 6s.

I already have a large and growing of supply of 5S packs.

This ship would be great for some off-season / small field flying.

a 15% voltage change isn't insurmountable.  You could add a little prop pitch or diameter to make up for it.

All I had was 3S 5000mah packs and I'm making them work... I'm very pleased with performance.
