Hello! My name Savely, I'm 15 years old and I  aircraft model builder from Russia. I love airplanes and do aircraft models for 2 years. Sorry, I'm badly at english.

I do not have rich parents, but aircraft modeling is too expensive to me.

I was 5 months doing a model airplane CANT Z1007 bis. It is a three-engine large aircraft. I make it as similar to a real prototype to participate in the competitions.

But I have not enough money to buy a retraction, and many other accessories for the aircraft. I need a minimum of $ 300. I am very upset. I can not get the necessary parts for the aircraft.

I would be very grateful if you help me. A little bit, if you do not mind. I will thank you very much.

I do not want to sound heartless but I work very hard and I cannot afford a project of that magnitude! 3 engines plus retracts and servos etc- the wife would kill me unless I starved to death first.

That work shop looks fantastic too. There might be plans out there to fabricate landing hear retracts from scrap metal?

Sorry if I am a bit grumpy this morning but at over 30yrs of age and full time employment I can barely afford to fly much more than foamies!

If you think I am being harsh please send me money too!

I ask you, you to help me with money, if you do not mind. I do own an airplane. I'll send the finished picture plane.

Maybe you misunderstood me.

He didn't misunderstand. He was being sarcastic with you.

And I will ask you not to come onto the forum and beg for money. If you were starving and needed food or a place to live, that might justify begging others for money, but toy airplanes are not a necessity of life. If you can't afford to finish a project, then don't start it. For that matter, if you can't afford the hobby then you just can't do it regardless of what your skills are. Very few of us are wealthy (mostly because we spend our extra time playing with airplanes instead of working!) so we plan out our projects as we are able to pay for them and wait as long as we have to for the big ones. I have been in the hobby 8 years now and I don't own an airplane as fancy and expensive as what you are planning. For a 15 year old kid to get on the internet and ask me and others like me to finance his dream project is actually pretty offensive. Get a job and pay for your own toys.

sjapa, I have been building and flying airplanes since 1948 and I did all sorts of odd jobs to earn money, from pulling weeds to selling outhouses door-to-door. You will feel much better if you earn your own money to support your hobby.

thanks for the steer- wasn't sure if I was being too grumpy! At age 15 my most expensive toy would have been a £100 pound tamiya rc car- and that was luxury. I am planning a singel engine (.55 size) build and after 3 years of spending I have collected the airframe balsa kit, servos and brushless motor. I am currently saving for a 100amp esc, covering and some tools. I certainly would not even consider a three engine set up etc.

When I was 16-17 I worked all summer and weekends in the fall as a masons laborer and earned enough to buy a Kraft 6 channel radio system , a Dumas Big Swamp Buggy ,and  a Sweet Stick Kit,  from Tower. That was a lot of hard work and that stuff cost a lot of money for a 16yo but I was able to do it .

Things may be different in Russia Sjapa, but in the US we really value earning things yourself. That's doubly true when it's luxury items like RC toys, boats, motorcycles, and such. Do you have a source of income to buy hobby things with? Do your parents help you at all?

I had a job when I was 15, and still couldn't afford r/c. So, I flew control line. Makes me appreciate being able to have r/c at this stage in my life. If you work hard for something, rather than have it given to you, you will appreciate it much more.
