You need hobby paint (more specifically 'lexan' paint), other paints will not stick to the lexan plastic of the bodies. They are unfortunately, not cheap from hobby shops, but they are the only paints I would use, purpose designed for the job. Expect to pay about 4 quid for a small can. One can will normally finish one complete body and maybe have a little left over.

When it comes to painting, paint the INSIDE of the body, keep the can 6 inches from the body, and never start pressing the can button while pointing at the body (you will get spurts and spots of paint as the can starts up if you do this), start pressing the button while pointing away from the body, and then bring the spray over the body in a smooth movement. Repeat this back and forth being careful not to use too much paint. Each coat dries in two minutes unless you put it on too thick, so you do one coat, let it dry for a few minutes, then another thin coat, and keep building up in this way until you have nice even coverage. Don't forget to remove the outer protective film before you start sticking the stickers.

If you go for a multi colored job with masking, make sure to mask where you will paint light colors and paint the dark colors first. If you put a dark color on top of a light color, the light color will take on a tinge of the dark colour. For example, if you paint a red and white design, paint the red first. If you paint the white first, when you paint the red, the white will turn pink.

If you look thru the threads here in the paint section you will find more than enough information on how to paint the lexan bodies.

Do not forget to thoroughly clean the body before painting....the body is made on a mould, that mould will have a release agent on it....

This is a very important step, clean it and then clean it again before you start. I learnt the hard way, have fun it is the one of the best parts of building an r/c or owning one at least IMO. I love painting the bodies and there is a pile of information to be found on this website about different paint schemes.

Good luck and have fun with it bud! I also am starting to paint my own bodies and just got an airbrush set and a bunch of hobby spraypaints and such... It is def fun and far more rewarding then an already trimmed and painted body...
