Hello, first-time poster here!

Going over some boxes I came across what may be my very most favorite toy, an R/C 6WD truck from Nikko from 1983 (which scares the crap out of me - that's 30 years ago!!). Finding it made me so damn happy that I went and tried to find out what it's called. I can't, however, and that's why I turn to this forum. It was made under different names by Nikko: Razer, Furia, Mammouth. The thing is - those all look different! They're not exactly this truck but recolors and slight remodels.

Pictures below. Didn't find the remote yet, but there is no reason why I wouldn't have it. If I do not manage to find it, however.....does anyone know what kind of remote these old Nikkos used to run on? Would it simply run if I got another remote somewhere?

Thanks!!!

I mailed Nikko and within two days I actually received an answer - I'm impressed with that!

This model is called "Desert Fox". It's from 1985, the "1983" stamped on the bottom refers to the year the tooling mould was produced....apparently.

Thanks to any and all who spared this question some thought.

That's great that Nikko responded so quickly with the name! I spent a chunk of time searching the web without finding another just like yours.

Ah, that's great, thanks. Yeah, even with the name there's nothing showing up. It's quite a long time..

They supplied a (tiny) scan of the respective page of theiir 1985 catalog, too.

On the bright side, with the catalog shot, you now also know what the remote looks like. Will make it easier to identify when you go looking for it
