Status: offline 		I disassemble them and paint. I believe the retracts were painted RLM02. I use rust-oleum self etching primer pintura base and it's really close to RLM02.

Interesting thing about Meister, it does not seem that we see very many of them.Even at the Warbirds over the Rockies. I wonder why? I know they are not exact scale, but they seem to fly good, and have a reputation for being easy to build.

Status: offline 		I think it's due to the size. You'd think that Dino would bring one of his own designs when he attends WOTR instead of flying someone elses bird. But then, that’s a lot of plane at something like 102 inches. I remember seeing a Platnium BF-109 at WOTR and that's it. Most seem to stick with 30-55cc birds. There are a lot of them out there, unfortunately not at our fields.

Status: offline 		On the Andersen, I did build the fuselage as spelled out. I have been really happy with how the fuselage went together. Very straight forward. Notice I assembled it over a large sheet of glass. This allows the plans to be under it and well protected. I am finding the best way to hold parts to the glass is tack glue them with CA, then you can bust them free later. Obviously, pins do not work on glass!

You sir are correct. I have 2 of the Platinum 109s in line to be built. I think the sweet spot is the 50 cc warbird. These monster get a little unruley. These are old photos of when i first put my trailer together but this is what is use to transport them now. Not everyone is willing to got to this trouble for toys.

I have a surprisingly supportive wife when it comes to this hobby, she may even buy the trailer for me just to get me out of the house..lol

Status: offline 		Most of the cockpit is from Iflytaillies, but I had to scratch the dash panels. I just have this stack of books, and studied the pictures. The FW 190 D walk around was of great help. I have a great book from Meister scale as well on the D9. Even got him to sign it! lol Funny, us scale guys are always bring books to the flying field. Everyone must think I'm weird!
You wanna see a sweet cockpit, check out that TA 152 build in the Scale section. The modified Meister kit that Pandisix is having built. Kind of makes mine look lame. I should have preshaded and airbrushed mine as well. Maybe next time!

Status: offline 		Good stuff. I didn't know meister sold references.. I love my birds but ultimately, I know I'll kill it in one way or the other so I don't get to detailed with them. Also, if I go all out on them, I won't fly much or I'll be too scared to fly it. Maybe one day I can have someone build my planes and go all out but then that's half the fun..

I used some thin pig leather I had leftover from some WW1 builds. I think I just rolled it, gluing it with fabric glue. It worked out pretty well. The thing I am finding with scale is to duplicate items, the best way to do it is to use the same materials that were used in the full scale. Use cloth where there was cloth, metal for metal, leather for leather etc.

I'm 25% there on the wing on the TF FW190. It's a real pain in the butt but then that's the fun in it all...

Status: offline 		Here is a 1/5 Bf-109 K  that I am building and has sat idle for the past year.  It has a fiberglass fuselage, foam wings, and a Zenoah G38 for power.  Don't throw darts, but the wing that I am working on has fixed gear.  I have a second set of cores for Shindin retracts with Lado actuators.  I purchased the retracts after staring on the first wing and regret it since the retracts aren't as hard to install after thinkg about it.  The big hold up is the intimidation of drilling and cutting the spinner.  This thread is making me get started again.
