I am building a hangar 9 p51 sport 40. I installed the recommended battery pack Receiver Pack 2700mAh 6V NiMH. My question is what charger should i use to charge the pack? I have a chargeswitch installed on the plane and I have a dx6i transmitter. The transmitter has a charger will that work? how long to charge? Any other info would help too, thanks.

Your Transmitter uses a 4.8 Volts (4 X 1.2 Volt AA Batteries) and the Charger is for 4.8volt, you need a charger for 6Volts; depending on how much you want to spend on a charger because there are several available; other considerations are the type of Batteries you use; right now you are using NiMH Batteries and any Charger Capable of Charging NiMH & NiCD Batteries with selectable Voltage ie: 4.8Volts or 6Volts.

Does that Tx charger have two outputs? If so it will be fine. Charge nimh until they are warm. This will be about 2700mah/mah output of charger x1.1 (due to inefficies of charging).

You should be aware that the 2700mah 5cell NMIH receiver pack may not be sufficient, particularly if you are using digital servos, electric retracts, and flaps. There are two versions of the model, an ARF, and an RTF. The major differences, other than the engine and radio equipment supplied with the RTF, is the landing gear mounts, and the absence of the plastic wing adapters on the ARF.
If you are going to use electric retracts, I'd suggest that a separate battery pack be used just for the retracts.
