Thanks so much for the great comments about the video guys. I am thrilled that you all are enjoying it.

Someone asked about camera equipment. The bulk of the footage was shot with Sony CX760v cameras mounted on Fig Rigs. A Sony FX-1 was used on our Kessler Crane and at times on a Fig Rig also.
The CX760v is an incredible camera and has unbelievable Active Image Stabilization. It is the perfect camera for shooting everything EXCEPT fast moving jets. In its' attempt to stabilize any and everything, it takes on a mind of it's own and makes fast panning next to impossible. All editing and color grading was done in Apple's Final Cut Pro, utilizing a healthy dose of Motion, Soundtrack Pro and LiveType.

Thanks again for the comments guys,
Paul

Now that we know for sure what Tam gave you for dinner that night, can you give us a good English howling?

Man, I sure hope you are not turning into a warewolf , here in the states you turn into an American cayote that is

Hi Guys, I want to thank Joe Castelao for inviting Paul and I to shoot the Best in the West '12 event at the Willow. It's always a pleasure to see you guys out there ripping the sky up with the most awesome models.
And, for me it's a privilege to shoot alongside unarguably the best jet videographer / editor in the world...our bro Paul Reese.

Hope to see you all next year for another fantastic weekend.

Paul Reese, my man... clearly this film is...

THE
BEST
FILM
IN
ALL
OF
MODEL
AVIATION!

I was blown away by all of it and then I thought your editing rose to a new level in the A-10 section. And then, immediately I was blown away again in a huge way by the Hillclimber section. I knew at that point this film was your best effort I've ever seen and in a completely different league in anything I've seen in all of model aviation. Your past efforts were the best I'd seen in model aviation, sure.. but this one transcends everything. All of your raw footage (both ambient sound and video imagery) is top notch but your composition and editing really bring this to the fee and excitement rarely experienced and "felt" outside of actually being at and flying in one of these jet event. Your music selections were really complementary to the ambient sound and images, awesome choices. I was not able to go last year, but I tell you what - after watching your film only once, I really felt like I got to be there. Thank you!

So I'm thinking if you put some documentary behind your work you could produce a piece that the general public would be completely entertained and inspired with. Something that could be exhibited. I'm just saying, your work is better than most I pay to see - sorta like Warren Miller, just not in ski land - but in jet land.

Bloody hell Mr Reese! Thats superb, well above and beyond what this hobby is used to. Your productions continually take it to the next level. I think I speak on behalf of all of us jet nerds when I say a massive thankyou for sparing your time, and great talents.
Regards Al

Loved the earlier post..."The Warren Miller of Jet Films"

Paul and Mike...THANK YOU gentlemen! It is such a treasure to have your outstanding work to keep these memories for posterity. So much more time goes into these videos than the "clips" that are posted so often of jet flying. Here's a few of the stand-out moments and effects that really struck me:

Hits: Great flying footage, Awesome POV and classic pit action with the human personality. Youtube friendly soundtrack hits the mark! "Stellar" title animations, logos, and vignettes that make it looked extremely polished and asking for more. Magical cuts from ground shots to the air-to-air footy. Ah, and of course the classic closer with the Sauzeech.

Wish list: How 'bout you "Mic up" Dougie, Ali, and Joey C for a day? Love to see some more hexacopter footage, and couldn't imagine what you guys would do with a DSLR package in your hands for some shots...

I'm subscribed and can't wait for the next one!
