Just as good? No. Good enough and cheaper? I'd say so. I just bought the cheaper flybarless Tarot kit from oomodel and am happy with the quality. Everything is tight and secure. I checked every screw that should have loctite and found they all did, but still wouldn't trust any factory built heli to have it anyway. You get a cheap set of wood blades and a few odds and ends spares to go with it.

Do you own one ? If so, what do you see as the main differances between Align & Tarot ? I'm thinking of getting this kit myself in the spring. Need ( LOL) want, an new 450, and want to go flybarless, since that's all I've been flying now since I got & built my Trex 550e slightly over a year & a half ago.
(version 1.2)
Is it the parts, or the electronics, that you appear to find a bit questionable. I myself have been flying Align and Blade products for 4 years now, and for the most part think they make a decent product. Just looking for opinions on this.
Thanks

Mine didn't come with any electronics, so that's a non-issue. You can put whatever electronics you want in it and it will perform based on the components you select. I had a 450 SE for a while and comparing the two the finish on the parts for the Align heli was better. I expect the bearings to be better quality and more durable in the Align product, but I can't verify that until I fly it for a while. Something to understand though is that when comparing combo kits, there is the difference in price between the airframe and also a difference in the electronics and motor. The Tarot comes with Henge servos and a lower grade motor and ESC, while the Align comes with all Align parts. If you figure up the cost of outfitting a Tarot airframe with Align servos and power system the difference in cost isn't that much.

Yes I'm aware of all that, was wondering how you felt the fit was. if everything lined up like it was supposed to etc. As far as electronics go I've had mixed luck with Align servo's so I'll try the Henge servos. As far as lower grade motor i've never heard anyone complain about the Tarot motor, and my buddy has used Hobby wing esc with no issues in the past on other Heli's.
I think I'm going to give the kit a go this spring. Good bang for the buck at face value. I'll see when I get it, get it built & flying.

It looks to be the same as this kit:
http://grandrc.com/Elec.-Helis-&-Parts-T-REX-450-Kits,-Combos/c213_56_57/p70161/RH45E01XW-T-REX-450-Plus-DFC-Super-Combo/product_info.html

From what I've read, the 3gx isn't the best fbl controller but many people have gotten it to work just fine. I don't know what the Tx is like, but if you already own one you can use it if it's 2.4.
$430 seems like a good price.

I haven't tried the 3gx, but I do have the 3g on my 550e. Lots of people banged on the 3g when it came out & yes the early units did have issues. Mine does suffer from the rare tail kick syndrom they were know for. However I fly moderate 3d and it rarely raises it's head. I'd try the 3gx like the other post said many have it and it works just fine.

Ya what I can never understand is why Align doesnt make that kit without their remote for cheaper. If Align made a 3GX system without their Remote I would consider it. Still cannot make up my mind, its like trying to buy my wife a van too many to choose from LOL

have you bought it, it seems not so cheap, just wonder if it is a fake.

Usually what happens with clones is that they typically use softer grades of aluminum or the tolerances may not be as tight.  With clones, if you are going to hover and do basic flight, then you most likely won't notice a difference.  If you are much more aggressive, then the defects will emerge.
