Anybody far enough on their corsair to know what size engine will balance the plane on C.G.? I have built two other corsairs in the past and they both turned out tail heavy and needed quite a bit of nose weight. I know that Hangar 9 is recommending a Saito 100, but I have a feeling that it might not be heavy enough?

I think they want you to add the tape for added protection in addition to the opoxy.
I used Robart 650 robostrut's and they fit quite well.
I fly off pavment and have had exelent luck with my H-9 P 51 with robostrut's #653 offset's mounted to the wire cut just before the bend in the coil and I feel I'm going to have good luck with these.
almost done with mine just starting the cowel, canopy then balance and wait for weather.
P.S if you can I think it would be better to bend the wire for the Rudder before the vertical stab as it is dificult to do after(install the wire guide 1st).

Tophat is correct the tape is in addition. Rough field re-enforcement. My expirience with hanger 9 planes is that they will balance correctly with the recommended engines and CG will have to be adjusted with any thing else.

I will use silicone and small screws for the wheel wells. (Flying off grass). Also, when the vert. stab is installed it should be done with the tail wheel link already inserted into the fuse. This way you can guide the vert. stab. into place by using the tail wheel link through the guide when you are ready to epoxy. If not, the link may not line up with the guide after you epoxy the vert. stab in place. H9 needs to correct the sequence as it can cause problems.

I looked at one of these yesterday at the LHS,,,,,,,feels REAL lite,,,,,what do you guys think about a Magnum .61 2-stroke for this plane ? Keeping it lite will help the retracts on a grass field. I am not looking for blazing speed or tons of verticle perfomance. The .61 is in the power range for this plane.

OK so Somebody has to be putting there's together by now, besides the retracts, which may or may not be useable(I myself am going to try the stock gear), are there any other concerns, complaints, or what not? Let's hear the story!

    sorry for being pushy,
    Allan

So far, other than the post I put on this morning, it seems to be straight forward. However, I am pretty much done with the fuse and will start on the hinges next so others that are ahead of me may have run into some concerns........ anyone have anything?

    Hey Piggy,

The looks and building of this model is pretty straight forward. Except for that !@#$@#($*&(&!@# way the rudder is setup . Someone else here has the right idea. Yes, it will change the way the model looks from up top, but if you want scale, build it yourself. I should have run a straight rod from the main fuse to the rudder coming out of the fuse somewhere. The 90 degree bend is a bear to do after it has been inserted into the rod. The angle isn't very easy. This is probably the only part of this model that I don't care for. So far every thing else has come together like clock work.
