Hi folks. Need some help. I have a turnigy 3010B 1300KV motor with a 50A ESC and a 2200mah 3s lipo. My problem is I have flown this setup on my rc glider 3 times. Today the thing won't start. Just stutters at start. I'm getting the usual tones and everything. I have an identical motor and swapped it out, same thing. Do you think it's the ESC? Any ideas would help. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, that might be the ESC. If some of the FETs in one phase are bad, the motor will just oscillate or stutter. That might not affect the circuitry responsible for the tones. A broken motor wire would likely produce stuttering and no tones. Try swapping a known good ESC to rule that out.

I had a similar problem. and it turned out to be a cold solder joint on one of my motor leads.

YeP, just had the same thing happen to me on a Micro C05 motor, found a broken lead to the stators.  I've also had it happen on other inexpensive sort of "Off Brand" Brushless motors, so now I usually put some type of glued (not CA though) to ensure that if the wires get pulled on the don't break. But I'm pretty confident that you've got a lead broken or a solder joint that was/is bad. You might also want to check YouTube, I found a LOT if videos on Brushless motors and how to repair and re-wind them.

Good Luck.

David

Yes it's running or trying to run on two-phase instead of three-phase. As already stated ,either a faulty  connection on one of the leads from the ESC board to the bullet or a bad solder connection on the board, or blown circuits on the board.

had the same thing happen to me on one of my planes using a G-Force (value hobby) 480 motor.
gota new motor and it did the same thing (stutter but would not start). I tried one thing and it worked for both motors.
I changed the start up from soft to normal and it worked real nice(forboth motors). now I got a spare motor.
