Well.. I got it about 1/2 inch of the ground today.. I don't think the battery was charged all the way because I had the throttle all the way up and it wasn't really getting off the ground. Also, it was hard to keep it in one spot. I t kept going to the sides and I ran into something and broke the tail rotor. So I'm gonna have to take a break from "flying" my heli until the spare parts arrive.

I dont have the training gear. I did order it though because I don't think its going to hurt my flying seeing as how much it sucks. And its really hard to do on carpet, it just tips over and I don't have that much room in my house...

Hey all you Aero Hawk Flyers, Or Like Me trying to Flyers

I have had the aerohawk about two weeks all ready broken several parts but lucky very easy and cheap to get new parts local to me. Saying that I am a keen R/c unthusiast and i do complelty understand a heli will take time to learn but this is crazy.

I can get the heli to take off, think i just about got trimming right but still wont hover for any long period and i really do get nervouse when its in the air. havent managed to fly aorund yet, WEll not in any controlled way..

I Keep reading something about reseting/changing the Model Tail motor Mixer but i dont know what that is or where it is or how to reset it! I think this could be the prob. Maybe some one else has some other ideas of what it is but this is the hardest thing ever!

The canopy doesn't seem to fit well with the battery and providing proper clearance for the airlon link. Also, looks like you have to remove the canopy each time you plug in the battery. When it's installed it's lopsided due to clearance issues.

Any AeroHawk owners worked out a compromise?

Harry

Ya, the guys forgot the battery. You need to cut new holes slightly above, if you don't cut open the bottom. The rubber rings can be pulled and inserted. Mine moved about 4 mm, after I probed 3 times. But you should not take this number as given, as your mount position can be different.

Drilled the new holes and moved the gromlets but now the blades interfere with the canopy. I suppose the old holes and a cut away for the battery is the answer but there's still parts touching the canopy.

Anyone made a canopy otta balsa for a heli....this plastic one is not working.

Try Radd Flight School - it's free online step by step heli training. Fun and it really teaches you how to learn to fly the right way.

I've got it about an inch off the ground but the main thing is learning how to control the sucker. The flight school really helps.

Went to Best Buy and bought a relatively cheap computer game controller (Nyko Air Flo PC). It was about $30 and is USB and works with FMS free flight simulator. Flying a few rounds with it makes me realize that his "hobby" is going to take a lot of practice.

to stop the "death woobble" all i did was mesure the distance of the fly bar divide that by2 and then put that much distance beside the middel
i will explain in greater depth if you really want to know
also would just like to add that there is no wobel at all anymore great or wat

Got the AeroHawk up and off the ground. Actually was flying so well i was afraid i was gonna loose it and brought it down too fast. It went up about 15 ft and about 30 ft into the backyard.

Landing(crash) busted the canopy but other than that everything survived.

It can be done!!
