I just got my Aerohawk today from a dealer on Ebay. The directions are terrible and I think it is missing a bunch of parts. Does anyone have pictures of their aerohawk that I could see to see how everything goes together etc. ? Also, how does the battery pack get mounted on here? I'd appreciate any help on how to get started with this thing, I'm very dissapointed in the shipment i received.

thanks,

I have a skylark ..same bird really...

here is a pic ..I used velcro on the underside front but ended up making a brace under the main gear to keep the heli centered. I alos have replace the motor and the full fly assembly above the swashplate. With a HB setup. I also make my own shafts from 3 mm cf rod from the hobby shop. get a Titanium rod if you can

good luck ..mine is unstable as all hell and am having trouble fly at all.. lots of fine tuning yet to do.

Thanks for the help guys. I did find a bunch of pictures on the Internet last night that helped me out and I began trying to fly this new aerohawk. Can someone help me out with what I should be doing to get this thing trimmed out? I notice that it always wants to drift to the left. Do any of you have recommendations based on what you all had to to? Thanks for the help!

I just get it up to speed to where its barely skimming the floor than adjust my trim levers on the remote to counteract whats happening. Remeber to have throttle all the way down and trim adjusters in center before plugging in your battery

Mike,
Where did you find these pictures? I am just starting to play with my new aero-hawk and I can see that it is going to need a lot of fine tuning so anything might help as I have never played with one of these before.

Dear All
my suggestion for set up
1) don't use too much control throw if you are not the experience heli flyer so you have to use the nearest center hole of the servo arm to reduce this after you can master it properly change to the outer one
2) when you hover it very close to the ground this will face ground effect(the cushion of air flow from main rotor) which cause easier drifting
3) it tend to drift to the left because the effect of the pushing of the tail rotor so you have to trim for right cyclic compensation.
4) make your own training ski ( use the 2 small carbon fiber rods long enough to prevent the rotor hit the ground and use small round rubber-foam attach at the end) but be careful about the adding weight make it as light as you can)
5) batt. has to be full charge because the power is quite marginal.
have fun

DrSup,
I already have the control rods in the next to inside holes and I do have the heli hovering slightly but as soon as I get it into a hover the tail drops and starts to occilate and I can't figure out why. Also my gyro does not seem to be working very well in that as soon as I get the heli into the air the tail starts going to the right as you look at it from the rear but if I add any trim at all then it just starts to go left, there does not seem to be a neutral spot, but I may find one if I can just get rid of the first problem.

the oscillation may cause from too heavy tail(CG location is not good), try move the batt foward, this had occured to mine
the most problem of this kind of heli(using the balance of two motors) is the great Amp will kill the less Amp so the electronic board(2ESC and mixer) has very limitation eventough the gyro works propery(you could check your gyro by jerking your heli left and right if the tail rotor change speed enough so it is OK)
if all things woek properly it is very easy to hover, fly but the wrong thing could happen because it is not endurant.

Well I finally starting flying my Aerohawk a bit and just broke a main rotor blade. Are there any recommended mods I should buy for this thing to make it more durable and more stable or easier to fly?

Thanks for the help!

buy the spare main blade if you still practice do have the training ski as I mentioned above (normally the main blade is very tough)
the next problem will occur soon is your motor brush burn out so it will just fly closely to the ground

Mike,
I am just starting to fly mine also. To just get it off the ground and obtain a couple of 4-6 second hovers I needed to completely disassemble the rotor head and drive system. The ball joints were all binding, there was little to no movement between parts 25 &29 and these must be completely free, just swiveling on the bearings. Also the part 03 control rod was 1/8" to long so I made a new one, yeah I know they say to just bend them but I couldn't see a way to do it without changing the way the ball joint then went together. It seems to be getting a little smoother now but is still almost impossible to control. I think that it still needs a lot of fine tuning! I can fly the electric heli in my real flight G2 pretty well but so far no luck with this little sucker! If you are flying or hovering how tight are your main rotor bolts? Did yours fly right out of the box? Does it hover smoothly or like mine does it start to shake and oscilate? I need help!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Kim

I too have an Aerohawk which suffers from oscillation at certain rpm speeds. I found my rotors were not balanced and required tape adding to get a better weight match. Also my flybar wasn't straight and the paddles didn't appear to be set correctly. I have since changed to the spare flybar after the original split and it is quite a bit better and more responsive (spare bar slightly shorter).

The main cause of the oscillation appears to be the main rotors - I have hand held the heli with the tail rotor stopped and throttled the main motor up and get major shake.

I think I just need to balance the whole rotor assembly together now. (does everything go back together nicely once taken apart? I can imagine more slop being introduced...

I also noticed much better performance when flown in a bigger space as there is less air turbulence around the heli.
