Entertained for 30 seconds, sure. Buying from them any time soon, negative. And it ain't because of the video.

Exactly my point, my posts are removed within the day. But there are hundreds of other posts completely off topic in the jets forum too. At least I'm a jet guy who has written multiple tutorials in this forum to help members, but my stuff gets removed or moved almost instantly, I'm not sure how you become part of the special club on RCU that can post whatever they want.

That's easy, grow a sense of humour.

RC is a "Hobby" and hobbies are supposed to be fun, nobody likes a killjoy.

That video was funny, at worst, just plain silly, but totally harmless yet so many people got upset about it;..

The OP was an Aussie and I'm sure he is getting more laughs from the silly "angry" replies than the video itself...

Who cares if it was not about Jets, this RC Universe is not the United Nations dealing with a Nuclear Crisis...

Here's a couple of vids about Jets for ya.

No wonder their products are junk.

Interesting logic...   How many of their products have you bought? and what made you decide they are junk. I have bought over 200 items from HK and all but one battery has been excellent value..

Please share your experience to support your comment for the benefit of others instead of just making unsubstantiated comments.

One battery in 50 from HK was faulty on arrival, vs, 2 faulty batteries from 8 bought in Local hobby shops (at 3 times the price) .. my personal and real experience with HK is very good.  If my experience with HK was consistently bad I would be the first person here advising others to avoid them, but that simply is not the case, they sell some fabulous bargains.

I could pay $1000 for a brand name helicopter (and I did) or I can pay $130 for a HK clone helicopter.  (and I did several times)   to be honest I can't see the sense in paying 8 times the price for effectlvely the same thing..

Here is my $130 HK helicopter that has over 1100 flights with ZERO issues,   Bargain  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRaI0t4n5Do

Just for the record, I have never had to replace anything in this helicopter that cost me $59 in kit form..   My $1000 Gaui needed a new one way bearing after just 200 flights.

That's my experience.. please post yours.

Hi Keith, yeah, a huge BSG fan... I bought a JR 11x because it was based on the design of a cylon head. and built a heli to suit...

PS..that is a Hobbyking Helicopter, cost me $69... the Carbon Blades cost me $8...

I could have bought the exact same blades for $59 at a local hobby shop...

800 flights on this heli and zero mechanical issues

That bandwidth wasn't wasted on me.. I enjoyed it..  I guess it was wasted on some people..

Integrity? Have you ever read the reviews under each product in the HK inventory?

How many hobbyshops will let you write a bad review about their product and post it on the box in the store to warn others not to buy this item?

I admire HK for allowing people to review items, good or bad and the reviews are there for everyone to read..

There are some items I have NOT purchased, IE Servos, ESC,s motors, based on poor reviews on the HK site..  That is amazingly fair..

Can you imagine anyone in your local hobbyshop telling you.  "Don't buy this servo because we have a lot of problems with it"

HK is like EBAY,  RESEARCH your product.. know what you want and what to expect.. READ the reviews, avoid products that have poor reviews and only buy products with numerous good reviews.  Follow these simple rules and you generally won't have issues with HK or any other seller..

One hobbyshop sold me two faulty batteries and refused to replace them.. But there is no way to warn others to avoid that battery in that hobbyshop..

On the HK website if I get a faulty Item I can post about it for the help and benefit of others..

I see that being extremely fair and ethical..

Tell me that logic is wrong?

Agreed, might be a good idea to find out where these opinionated people, burdened with their self importance fly, to avoid those fields:-)

This thread just reminded me to get some life batteries from HK to finish updating my fleet... Or I could pay 3 times more from another local store (HK is local) to get the same Chinese crap with a different sticker:-)

No wonder their products are junk.

I'll post another example I had forgotten about last night..

My first Hobbyking Helicopter, cost me $59 in kit form.

I decided to buy good quality servos from a Local Hobby Shop and on the advice of the store went with Hitech Hs65MG servos for Cyclic ($35 each)

For the Tail servo I used a Hobbyking Servo a DS480 that cost me $21 from HK.

This helicopter has over 1100 flights..

I have replaced all three hitech servos because they developed glitching after about 500 flights, and were unreliable,

Meanwhile the Hobbyking DS480 on the Tail (the hardest working servo on a helicopter) is the original and going strong..

I swear on my life that is a true story..

So please define "Junk"??

Another HK Heli, cost me $10... Yep TEN BUCKS,, I built it with $4 Hobbyking Servos all around and they have NEVER failed in now over 800 flights...

I'm extremely happy with the "junk" I buy from Hobbyking.

Video to "substantiate" my comments.

I have no affliiation with HK, and I don't really care if people choose not to use them.

I get defensive for the benefit of Newcomers who have NO experience with HK, and may get deterred from a bargain or a perfectly good "training" helicopter due to unsubstantiated and negative comments from so called "experts"

If you have a bad experience with HK, post it on their site, in the review section, and if you make a comment like "Hobbyking Sells Junk" Please back it up with some PERSONAL and REAL experiences, otherwise its all hearsay, (with is not even accepted as valid in any court of law)

Anyone can say what they like, but without supporting evidence it is meaningless...

I guess you don't fly with Futaba or JR because Hobbyking sells them, so they must be junk?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18450__Futaba_T8FG_Super_14ch_Transmitter_w_R6208SB_2_4GHz_Receiver_Mode_1_.html

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22277__JR_XG11_11_Channel_2_4GHz_DMSS_Transmitter_w_RG1131B_Receiver_Mode_2_.html

Scorpion Motors must be Junk also..  Good Grief!.

Thanks, yes, that was my target audience also..

But you think Hobby shops don't love it when a new customer walks in with no experience?

I have seen them "up sell" a new customer on a $1000 Helicopter and a $900 radio and the poor sod can't even fly!.

Much better to crash / learn on a $100 heli and when you CAN fly, spend the big bucks if you want to..

Anyway,  I have flown hundreds of different RC planes over 34 years..

My current favourite and one of the nicest RC planes I have ever flown is a P51 Mustang from Hobbyking, $140  with retracts and flaps.

Now over 300 flights on this plane, zero issues..  I love my HK Junk!.

Meanwhile, an aircraft I bought from a Local Hobbyshop ($300) has had 1 failed aileron servo, (Parkzone Se5a)  and another had a failed Brushless motor (Eflite Mini Mig), both in under 100 flights.. ..  Did the hobbyshop replace them? NO.. I had to pay for new ones.

And what is really amazing is that with all that staff they still can't provide a Farthings worth of customer service. Maybe that's why the video is offensive. If they actually did something in the way of real customer service them I suppose I might feel differently about it but it looks like all they do is goof off. don't believe it try to call them on the phone..... Even if you get them on their live chat ask a technical question about any product and see how much help you get from them.

My LHS only has about 7 employees but any of them can answer questions and give advice about every single product they sell. Can Hobby King do the same?
