Well, please name one biplane that actually looks like a pattern ship should

Apart from maybe a Miss Wind, they rest all look like they escaped from a Hayao Miyazaki anime....

I saw this one at the Nats and it is absolutely gorgeous, IMHO. Gernot Bruckmann "Sensation".

If all they have done is the CADs for this plane I would guess it is still very early in its development. Does look like it will be nice and will be interesting to see the finished product. But because it's Oxai and the bipes go for over 5 grand thats all I will be able to do is look.

That's the exact type of ugly I'm talking about.

I guess the pumped up mylar balloon look does't really float my boat

I really like this CG. Not sure what it is about it, but it will be interesting to hear how it preforms with the wings closer together than the average Bipe.

Nice work Chip!

(and yeah, I have a Scandalous)

Lucky for you Hanno couldn't fly his semiscale Pattern models in the 95 Worlds. The paradigm shift could or would have been inevitable

In Pattern, fit and appearance has always followed function. We get zero kiddie points for even the very best craftsmanship or innovation

I'm confused. What should a pattern airplane look like? I was under the (apparently mistaken) idea that they should fly well, and their form would follow their function.

I haven't seen any with a flying pig as a pilot yet.

I wonder how it will fly when doing the loop corners of a triangle, interesting concept nevertheless.

I suppose all the critics here have supirior knowledge in aerodynamics and design, huh.

Amazing how many people are so quick to talk crap about someone else's work and efforts.

Is it just because its from Chip, or what..

why is there so much hate in these boards...

It's not hate, it's aerodynamics. Physics. Science. When I first saw the pics, I talked to Chip about it directly, as I think there will be serious interference issues between the wings. He thinks it'll fly just fine, so more power to him!

A bigger question is why someone can't disagree with another on this forum without being labeled as hate.

Innovative thinking for a reason. What manuvers do better with a bi-wing design.
