Hello,

I'm finishing up construction of a Slow Poke 40 kit.

I bought an unfinished kit a few years back and I'm getting back to working on it.

Anyway... I either lost the landing gear, or they weren't in the kit.

I'm trying to order new ones from GP.

In case I can't get them.. could somebody post the measurements of the landing gear?

I know it's 5/32 diameter, but how long are the various segments between bends.

Thanks in advance...

vmsguy, The vertical section that goes into the wing landing gear blocks is 7/8", the horizontal section that goes along the slot in the landing gear blocks is 4' long c/l to c/l, the vertical "leg' section is 3 1/2" tall, and the horizontal section where the wheel mounts is 1 3/4" long. If you are unable to get replacements from Great Planes and you are going to bend your own up, I would advise you to slightly increase the height of the gear a little if you are flying off grass as the stock plane sits a little low in the grass. Add a 1/2' to 3/4' to get it up a little. It will also help the prop to ground clearance. I did a major kit bash on a Slow Poke 40 a while back and have the stock gear collecting dust in a box. If you can't get new ones and want stock size gear, I would be happy to mail these to you at no charge

vmsguy, I put the Slow Poke gear in the mail for you at 1:30 pm today, you should have it in your hands by next Mon. or Tues. Please let me know when it arrives. What are you powering your Slow Poke with? Don't under power it, back when mine was stock it would barely fly with an OS 46 LA, better with an OS 46 FX, and now hauls butt with a Super Tiger 75. Enjoy it!

Thanks for sending the LG...

I'm going electric on the slow-poke. I'm to the point where I'm ready for initial balancing.. hence the gear.

uh-oh...That's not good. I did send it on the 18th as stated. Cross your fingers and lets wait a little longer. It was sent regular mail not registered or insured. If the Post office looses it there is no recourse.

Stock Slowpoke landing gear bends with time and the plane likes to tip forward and bust the prop. Du-bro makes a landing gear that is connected to the fuse. No more tip over and bust props. Slowpokes need nose weight anyway.
