Status: offline 		I am endeavoring to desing my own airplane, and thought it might be best to start with a scaled down version. I was wondering if there exist any plans for a scratch built RC? My thinking is that working with an existing design with allow me to learn about the process while doing it.

I could not find anything about this via search. The plane I am envisioning is similar to a long ez so plans for a long ez would be ideal, but the search turned up nothing.

Status: offline 		What you need to do is acquire a set of full size vari-ez or long-ez plans. They are hard to find but still out there. Then you can work off those to build your scaled down plane with your changes or modifications. But before you even think about designing your own plane, just remember that all these kits you see on the market were designed by engineers and thoroughly tested, and had to pass FAA regulations. I built a Mini-Max a few years back and the company that sells the kit does not recommend any "changes" to the original plans. All the canard type planes I have seen are built from composites. Any plane you decide to build must be inspected by a DAR throughout the building process, and then pass an inspection by the FAA to receive an airworthy certificate.
