I am looking at the midwest AT-6 at the moment and was wondering if any of you have experience of this model, is it straight foward to build? does it fly well?.

Also on the Saito website it is mentioned that the 170 Radial is an ideal engine for this kit, does anyone have this engine?, how well does it run?

Status: offline 		I have the 1.70 radial. WOW, what a wonderful engine. The only thing I have noticed, is that until fully broke-in, it will lose one of the lower cylinders while idleing for a minute or more. (thats if the glow plugs are not powered up) I have about 3/4 gallon through it now & it just keeps getting better. Starts easy, & it will put you in a trance with the sound at low idle. (with the glowplugs lit of coarse). Im thinking of getting another for a 101" b-25 project. You wont be disappointed if you get this engine. Wish you good luck with your project. MILDBILL

Status: offline 		Completely agree with Mildbill about the 170 R3.
Glad to hear you also use glo heat at idle, mine only has about 45 minutes and like you say, a lower plug will quit after prolonged idling. I set the glo heat for the bottom 10% of throttle travel and now have no problems.

Australian reviews of the 170 R3 say it is the best of the Saito triples. I believe them.

Although the Texan would not be over-powered with one, I think it would be ideal and provide plenty of 'scale' performance.
