Guys , when I was at my last event I noticed the guys in masters and advanced were able to land the plane in a very slow high alpha way.. I was shown by another guy how they are mixing the throttle and elevator with a mix and trimming the plane for very slow flight instead of normal flight and getting into this mode with a switch...any insight?

I tend to drop that ailerons a bit and mix in some up elevator which works for me.

I can't come in high alpha as my tailwheel starts hitting the ground first which thumps the main wheels down. Being an Oxai model, I'd rather land a fraction faster and smoother (flaired 3-point) than dump it down hard 10mph slower.

You may consider setting up an airbrake function - raise both aileron (about 25%) & lower the elevator very slightly (about 8%). This is the opposite to adding flaps, to decrease the lift, & you can use your throttle to drag the plane in for landing.
