Hello everyone!!

I am new to the RC world.  It's kinda funny how things work sometime, usually when you into certain activities you kids tend to show an interest in them as well.  I kinda worked in the opposite direction for me.  My son is only 5 and he is really into the Hot Wheels Monster Jam trucks, then he started watching MJ on TV and of course I would watch it too.  One day I saw that Traxxas is the official RC car of MJ and the rest is history!

So I have this Son-Uva Digger and it has been a ton of fun so far.  I've done some upgrades mostly to the suspension, Big Bore shocks, progressive rate springs for the rear, aluminum turnbuckles, and front and rear RPM A-arms.

I thought the truck was fast enough for me at this point, if I remember right with the stock gearing of 14/90 it ran 21 mph by GPS.

But I quickly got use to the speed and of course I wanted more, so I went 2S lipo and a Sidewinder 3 with the 4600kv 1406 motor by Castle Creations.  Boy has it been fun with that one.

My speed is now 28 mph with the stock 14/90 combo and with the optional 19/90 gearing it ran a cool 39 mph!!!!

I have since replaced the 19T pinion back to the stock 14T just because I am usually off road on a track that is mostly dirt and dead grass, and my straight away section is about 60 ft so it doesn't really even get up to speed with the 14T gears!

Maybe I should make a list of my upgrades, it might be fun to compare with others out there to see what everyone else is doing.

Carnage at last!!!

Well this is actually the second part that I have broken on the Digger.  The fist one was a castor block.  This was much more dramatic on all accounts.  I was having some serious fun racing on the track I built with my brother.  He was in the lead and took the jump pretty soft, I was right behind him and I thought this would be the perfect time to pass.  I gave it all the throttle it had and hit the jump, I passed him in mid air directly over-top of his truck.  The only problem was that when the Digger hit all the weight came down on the right rear and broke the turnbuckle.  Oh well, I will have to make a trip to the LHS tomorrow!!

I thought I would take a pic of the three stampedes.  The silver one I just picked up today, I found it on Craig's list and I paid $60 for it.  It had a manual speed control unit that which I thought was pretty cool, but I did have an XL-5 so I swapped that in and away she went.  I'll have to test it out more tomorrow.
