Well I did it, I purchased a XXX NT. It came down to that or an HPI MT, which had the 4wd that I wanted - but I had just read too many good things about this new XXX NT. I figured with the first truck, you probably don't get everything you want, mainly because you don't know everything you want. And I was told that the radio that came with the XXX NT RTR package was pretty good, and could be used with future cars. I am looking for any tips from other XXX NT owners on do's and dont's, things to look out for, etc. Also, any advice on being able to fit other body styles on the XXX NT would be appreciated, I'm nit a big fan of the style that it comes with.

CONGRATS ON BUYING, IMO THE BEST R/C TRUCK AVAILABLE!! I'VE HAD MINE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS,AND I LOVE IT.FIRST TIME OUT FINISHED FOURTH OUT OF TEN.SECOND TIME SECOND OUT OF TWELVE.LAST NIGHT QUALIFIED THIRD OUT OF TWELVE, DID'NT FINISH THE MAIN,ENGINE DIED FINALLY TIME TO LEAN IT OUT,AFTER ABOUT 15-20 TANKS.IT'S AN OS .12 CV-R AND I'VE BEEN RUNNING PRETTY RICH SINCE DAY ONE.BE SURE TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME FOR BREAK-IN!! I MET A GUY WHO BOUGHT A RTR AND WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT.IT WOULD'NT RUN FOR MORE THAN A FEW MINS. AND IT WAS VERY HOT NO MATTER HOW WE ADJUSTED THE NEEDLES.HE SAID THAT THE DEALER WHO SOLD IT TO HIM(A SELF-PROCLAIMED GAS RACER) DID'NT ALLOW ANY BREAK-IN TIME FOR THE ENGINE,TOOK IT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX AND WOUND IT ALL THE WAY UP FROM THE FIRST RUN IF YOU FOLLOW PROPER BREAK-IN PROCEDURES YOU CAN AVOID THE SAME FATE.HAPPY MOTORING!!!

The first thing you should do after you have broken in the engine is to go to Losi's web site www.teamlosi.com and get the latest set-up. Try to match the track you race on. The other thing is get a Robinson aluminum diff gear. That way if your diff gets loose you will not burn up the diff gear. The robinson aluminum diff gear cost about $20.00.
I got one of the first XXX-NT and have won a lot of races with it. If you find a set-up that looks good for your track, make it exactily like the set-up sheet. Don't be an engineer, after they designed the truck. All the parts numbers are on the web site.
Have fun with it.
Later, Rick
