I had one, a few years back, with an OS61 Hanno Special. Still a good first Pattern plane. Build it light (under 8lbs) and straight and you´ll have a fine plane. You will probably want to modify it for (Bolly) fixed gear, with a well supported 1/8" ply mounting plate on top of the pipe tunnel.

The Blue one is my own design called the Barn Swallow 2M
The Green one is an Ultra Sport 60, built from RCM plans #1048
The Teal one is an Tornado 88, another RCM plan #370

Hope you like

here's my Cyclone, powered by OS140RX, prosser pipe,
hyde style mount, awesome plane.
Designed here in Australia by John Payne of Qld.
A top class F3A pilot flew it recently and said it it every bit as good as
as Partner. Wow....big call but he loved it.

Heres my Curare. Fresh after its rebuild[:(]! Still trying to figure out how to use the airbrakes. Speed61 & Futaba FF9 (8 servos).

(added to answer question). It weighs about 8 lb. The flaps halve its landing speed and most people are amazed how slow it can fly when they feel the weight. With flaps up, gear up, and the webra on the pipe, it makes like a missile. The flaps can also couple to elevators and give realy tight turns at slower speeds. I quite fancy a Magic if I could find a plan. Vapour trails? not seen them yet.

flyintexan -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 4:42 AM)

Holy Ike, what a curare! Old school is beautiful.

You gotta tell us how much that thing weighs!

Do you get vapor trails when you pull into a loop?

Imac Kiwi -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 6:07 AM)

My Matrix with OS 160 FI with Hatori header and pipe. JR 10x for guidance.

Nice project Rune! Where did you get that raked back landing gear? I'm looking for something like that to replace a rather cobby-looking standard conversion on the Metterhausen MATADOR that I picked up last week.

kkarkine -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 2:36 PM)

There is some pictures of My Fascination. Made by Jussi Kettunen And I bought it Year ago from Kimmo Kaukoranta. Kimmo didn't fly it, but I have flown it in Finnish nationals.

Nice Fascination ,Where/who sells plans or kits for this one,----- SEEMs like you have retracts good idea-----> I would never build a sleeK pattern aircraft only to have some landing gear hanging on it as if it were an IMACgas burner![:D]

patternflyr -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 8:06 PM)

Some pictures of my airplanes, EVOLIS XXL, and ENIGMA, built by JP ZARDINI, ZN Line, YS 140L & DZ engines, Futaba 9ZAP radio, JR servos ....

ramcfarland -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 9:07 PM)

Beautiful birds all---the pictures keep coming along with pattern's( "World Class popularity") and with relatively new pilots(some how I became relatively old..) Now to build one of the current class 140 types: Do you all think a 160FX would be Okay for one of these 2 meter aircraft?( I don't compete)

J-P -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 9:19 PM)

JP did not built the last one...[:)

ramcfarland -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 9:39 PM)

BEST REGARDS[8D]

J-P -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 9:44 PM)

No one is to sell
I love both[:@]

Eric.Henderson -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (10/31/2004 10:55 PM)

This is my latest. It is the ULTRA-RC ICEPOINT ARF that came out well as a viable 2 meter pattern plane.

3DMike -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (11/1/2004 11:02 PM)

another matrix, 140rx. Really a composite typhoon if you squint[:D]

bokuda -> RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!! (11/2/2004 2:40 AM)
