Can anyone suggest another set of exhaust stacks other than what comes in the kit. Or if not can anyone give some location and mounting advice. With the ARF the stacks extend over the back of the cowling and does not seem to want to lay down on the fuse...with pulling the cowling on and off this may be an issue...please help...

Check Tony-Howard at the top of this page....With a little patience, this makes a pretty scale looking setup

For additional installation photos in addition to those in my RCU ad, take a look at the Gallery section of my website.

Hi..
I need some help ...
I am trying to install my ignition module for a ZDZ 40 RE.
If I try to install it on the firewall the only place that I have room is behind the muffler. Is it ok there or been so close to the muffler it's going to be too hot ? I have about half to 3/4 inch clearance.

If I go behind the firewall, I have room but I need to drill a very large hole to allow the spark plug cap to go through, therefore I think I'll compromise a little the strenght of the firewall. Is this a suitable place for it ?

How did you guys deal with this issue ?
I am stuck and I need some help ...Thanks !

Hey Doom, I mounted mine behind the firewall on the plate for the tank. I simply enlarged the hole they already had in the firewall until the plug wire would fit through. My tank is mounted in the Fuse on the center of gravity. My firewall is rock solid enlarging the hole caused me no problem, but I did FG my firewall as I would always do anyway. Good Luck, Kevin.

I havn't got as far as you guys in regards to mounting the Ignition Module, I was always under the impression you always mount ignition stuff in the engine Compartment in front of the Firewall to place it further away from the RX to reduce interference, is this not the case, or concern?

Yes sir that is the norm, however sometimes it can not be help to put it behind the fire wall. Normally I place it above the engine on the fire wall. build a little podium or just strap it to the fire wall using wire ties and screws. I also use natural foam to isolate it form vibration.

Ready to buy TopFlites GS P51 Mustang / Fuji 63.1 combo. Hopefully with as little cutting as posible on the cowl! Has anyone put this engine in? The engine Topflite reccomends has no guts. Is there a better choice? Without spending a lot of $. Also would like to convert to P51 B, Using Great Planes conversion kit. I have been out of this hobby over 25 yrs. Anyone on these 2 ? Covert RC

I have built this conversion from the ARC, glassed and painted... Parts are available from TF, makes a nice model...
I dont have a seperate picture , but if you'll go to our website. converseeagles.org open videos and pictures, scroll down to Howards P-51, you'll find pictures of Shoo Shoo Baby... I used a Brillelli 46, flys it very well.......Cowl is very narrow, a DL50 with a wraparound muffler would be a good fit, and plenty of power....
