Swami RC has 2 crawling vids that are better than any vids that I have seen(better than mud cow). There is an Aussie 4x4 site called outerlimits4x4 and they have a crawling board for RCs that is really good. They event have rock crawling comps.

woah, its slow but seems like it would have unlimited torque then. i guess i will go with the txt. it looks better than a clod to me i guess. and i have seen things where it needs very little in mods to get it perfect to climb. wht do you mean by good parts? i may gear mine for like 15 mph so i can get some speed while still having torque. and wheres the best place to buy one for the best price. i will also consider e-bay for one.

Out of the box a txt is way better at crawling than a clod but With a crawling chassis the clod will crawl over any thing the guy I bought my clod off of made a chassis that has 180 degrees of articulation The best place would probably be on a crawling forum market place.
Here is picture of that chassis articulated

Don't forget the little guys.
IMO building a crawler is all about how you want it to perform. 180 degrees of artic won't help you out a bit when a tire drops into a hole and gets wedged there, but you do need good artic to get maximum traction. Throw in approach and break over angles, center of gravity, suspension stiffness, gearing, locked diffs, etc. You can build a crawler to suit what you want to do with it.
Here's my crawler. It started life as a TLT-1 and now sports a custom Plexiglass chassis, Stampede tranny, traxxas sliders, Juggernaut yokes, locked diffs (rear, center, and front), 2.2 Geolander tires, and a CJ-8 body to top it off. I'm more into scale crawling, so it doesn't have gobs of articulation or huge tires.

Do you know if you can get the plans for a new chassis anywhere? Also, what would a good esc for a clod be on a budget?
No I don't know of any plans there pretty straight up all you need is mounting for you shocks or cants. and mounts for you links just look at a chassis you would like to copy and you will see how simple most of them are.
The cheapest esc is a normal rooster it can handle two stock motors. Or you can get two cheap escs mounted with a y harness.

Thanks, well seeing as my clod hasn't arrived yet i'm gonna have to wait a bit. Maybe i'll help by putting some plans on my website (very bad at the moment) once i've made a few and them. Also, if u can get some aluminium thick enough i should be able to make all you guys some sweet wheels for anything . Also, i can chrome any metal parts so that's good too . How do you mean use a y harness?
