Need some ideas on what others have used for covering the control surfaces of the p-40. I'm considering two options at present,...century fabric or stits. In trying to keep the cost down I'm swinging more towards the century route as I wouldn't have to buy fabric and dope, but I want to hear what ideas you geniuses have!!! The rest of the airplane will be glassed and painted.

I have always used Sig koverall and Nitrate Dope on control surfaces and open surfaces. You can fill the weave with dope and it doesn't loosen up.

I covered mine with 21st century. Its held up great so far. Primed with there primer and then painted with Perfect Paint.

Solartex, if you can find it. I still use it today, on my giants. Takes paint so well you dont need to prime it, and gives you a nice fabric scale finish. Buy the natural or white colors to make painting a snap.
